Bought this as a direct replacement for my current uflex ...
Bought this as a direct replacement for my current uflex system on my flats boat. The old one lasted 12 years, hoping to get another 12 from this one. It was a straight forward install, but did take 3-4 hours to install. I had to remove the engine from the transom to angle the steering arm end of the cable into the tilt tube. Just a tip, when removing the old cable, attach a rope or paracord to the end of the cable at the transom and attach the rope to the new cable. Then remove the cable by pulling it from the console end. I had to cut the steering rod from the end of the old cable and remove the brass nut at the end in order to pull the cable out through the console.
