International Grandmasters Chess Tournament Neuhaus Zurich 1953 in Russian
A**L
A chess classic
A classic book, pretty much regarded as one of the best books ever written by a chess professional who at the same time never became world champion. The book is interesting because the tournament itself involved some of the top rank players of the day (Keres, Petrosian, Najdorf, Smyslov, Geller, Averbakh, Taimanov, and of course Bronstein himself), but at the same time the actual world champion-Botvinnik-was absent. It is also one of the best books about the thought processes involved in playing chess at this level (the other is Kotov, Think Like a Grandmaster), and notably Bronstein does not stop at analysing his own games but covers all the participants.
