Hahnemuhle Sumi-e 80gsm Paper - 30 x 40cm (11.8" x 15.7")

Of all the different papers I've tried for suminagashi water-printing, this has been the best by a long way. The paper is light, flexible, absorbent, strong enough to be washed off (but don't leave it to soak) and gives a crisp print. It also works out cheaper than most comparable Japanese papers, and I was happy to find the declared 20-sheet count is actually a minimum. The colour is a natural white. The surface feels slightly rough, but there is little visual texture and nothing that will detract from the appearance of more delicate work.
