Hi,These binoculars are excellent, if you're nose can fit between the gap between the eye pieces.Unfortunately, as much as I love them, my nose has to jam up between / against the eye pieces, which shakes the tripod,make shake and viewing not possible for my eye nose shapes.I feel so sorry to having had to return them.

Waaaayyy too heavy! I got the tripod too because of others’ reviews but still unusable because of weight. The tripod from Celestron was not tall enough to be able to angle up at stars without kneeling down to look through them. The Pro ED are even longer and heavier than the Pros. I ended up keeping the Celestron 7x20 Pro EDs instead and sticking with my Unisteller telescope.

I bought a pair of 25 by hundreds and they came back to me not properly collated so I bought the 20 by 80s and these are really beautiful crisp stars and that’s a lot of light in. I could tell a difference between these binoculars and a regular pair of binoculars Very well built. Also they have a little weight to them and I like that I have the option for a pieces for the moon, which works very nice.

As an experienced astronomer, I wanted binoculars that could complement my telescope for those nights when I want a quick scan of the sky without setting up my full rig. The SkyMaster Pro ED 20x80 turned out to be the perfect choice. I’ll start with some notes on the quality and construction. The 20x80 size is hefty (don’t plan on holding this by hand- a tripod is a must) but it provides a noticeable boost in brightness over the more typical 15x70 size. The built-in tripod adapter is well made and the binocular works great mounted on a basic but sturdy tripod. Lastly, the focus wheel is large and easy to manipulate, even with gloves on in the cold. When I looked through the optics, one of the first things I noticed was the superb detail compared to other binoculars I’ve used. The collimation was spot on right out of the box. I wondered if the ED glass would make a big difference considering it adds to the cost quite a bit. Well, I really can tell the difference and as promised there is ZERO chromatic aberration. TLDR: The SkyMaster Pro ED 20x80 binoculars are an excellent addition to any astronomer’s toolkit. They have quickly become essential in my observing sessions. Highly recommended for those serious about their astronomy.

Great binoculars! Very heavy. But they are overpriced. Max 200/250usd.

I am impressed by the build quality of these binos. A little on the heavy side, but managable. The quality of the image and optics is also impressive. Very clear views and a nice wide field of view.The problem is with the eyecups. They are far too large and don't allow enough room in between for your nose, and prevents you from getting a good position for eye relief and inter pupillary distance settings. The eye relief is moderate and could be much better. It looks as if Celestron designed the eyepieces to accept filters at the expense of eye relief. I would MUCH rather have the eye relief than the ability to add filters that are rarely used. So if you have an average to large size nose, you may have a problem getting good views with these. I ended up taking the eyecups off (they are NOT designed to be removable) and am getting good views that way. I think Celestron needs to better design their eyepieces.

I mean they’re really nice binoculars for like viewing the deer in my field and stuff like that but as far as any kind of terrestrial viewing or seeing close-ups of the moon or things like that, they don’t cut the mustard

I bought the Skymaster Pro 80x20 and ED versions, then compared them side-by-side, viewing a cityscape during the day and at night. There is NO comparison. The image quality is much crisper with the ED version.Based on what I have read, the EDs are waterproof versus water "resistant" for the regular Pros. And unlike the regular Pros, they are nitrogen-filled to prevent fogging. The ED wins by a large margin, even factoring in the price difference.
