American Art Collector Print Magazine

For the past year, I've bought a few American Art Collector magazines from various bookstores; now, I've decided to purchase it for the convenience of having it in my mail, rather than making trips to see if it's come in or not. American Art Collector is an excellent, beautiful, timely, and intelligent periodical; it's of interest to collectors, artists(such as myself), and those who appreciate art in its many genres. Articles are well-written and depictions are excellent. I highly recommend it for all art lovers. Having it on my sofa table and reaching for it at leisure is one of life's little pleasures.

I had tired of the Art In America magazine. It kept reminding me that American art is in the toilet. This magazine is classy without being stuffy and shows what collectors like these days, and even lets you see some of their homes. Very nice! I recommend it!

I first read American Art Collector while at art school and absolutely love it! I've bought a few American Art Collector magazines from various bookstores over the years but now I am a subscriber. American Art Collector is an beautiful magazine was gorgeous reproductions on glossy paper with well written articles. I love the mini articles on lesser known artists that I've never heard of, I love finding a great new artist!I highly recommend it for artists and collectors alike.

I am vacillating about renewing my subscription. I was definitely going to let the subscription lapse after a couple of really poor issues--then this last issue did something to redeem the magazine. The fact that really piss-poor, incompetent art in the cuddly kitten and badly painted playboy nude categories are even covered in this magazine really bugs me! I don't mind art that is done by people with a different world view from mine--no matter how strange it appears. It is the stuff that is purely commercial--that the artist knows is crap and that the galleries that sell it know is crap--that really bothers me! I know that the editors of this magazine also know that it is crap. They just know that it sells and that there are buyers for it. To me that is not an excuse. They are just participating in the fleecing of the ignorant!There is also good work in this magazine--often extremely wonderful work. Quite a bit of it. I just have an ethical concerns.

I use all magazines for inspiration for my own textile art. I do mainly portraits, but I like seeing how other artists use color, detail and theme. So far, American Art Collector has provided the best inspiration of any magazine I have tried.

This magazine is the best on the market. Great demos and information for all artists of all mediums. I would highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

It's a Great magazine, beautiful artwork, always fun to see all the great artists each month, good articles too. Always enjoy!

Excellent past experience with this magazine. I haven't received my last subscription yet. Expect it soon.. If you are an art buff or a collector you will love this magazine.
