8CH 5MP Security Camera System with Color Night Vision/Motion Detection, 4Pcs Wired PoE Cameras for Home Security Outdoors, 4K 8CH NVR with 2TB HDD for 24-7 Recording, Remote Access

Going from 5MP to a 4k system is like trading in your old rabbit ears TV for an HD flatscreen. Wow. The poe makes setup easier and the color night vision is nice but it requires there be bright led lights on the camera which stands out like a sore thumb in the dark. Picture quality is simply amazing.

Installed this system because old ones were no longer supported for external view.In Two months time I already lost Two Cameras, the night vision lights don't come on , qsee replaced one of the cameras but it took almost 2 Weeks of tech support asking the same questions over and over.I will not purchase another QSEE PoE Camera System with 2TB HDD, Wired NVR Security Camera System, 8CH PoE Security again. Buyer beware of cameras itself. A far as the NVR when I replaced a new faulty camera on port 1, the port no longer was available and internally jumped to display #5, no poe camera was connected to #5, seem like defective camera married port 1 and made it unavailable.Update 6/20/24already lost another camera to a failed night vision light again.Going to replace this junk with another brand.

This is a great system. It was super easy to set up and really just worked right out of the box. I have not had any issues with it.

Just before the evening of the first day of installing I started to consider the possibility that the night color feature would mean the LED would remain on all night. Hoping the statement on the website that LED would automatically initiate meant with motion, but I was correct it was via photocell. The LED lights remain on and if you are in a area where the light is shining towards a neighbor, you would face a choice. Loose this feature and turn off the light, dim the light or look for POE PIR. Previous Q-see camera (4) that I had used a wonderful Ball mount. Just swivel for a very quick adjustment during install; the provided cameras in the kit requires 4 set screws that can be tedious to turn when mounted on eve and close to wall. No masking of motion like previous 3MP 1080P model and doesn't support Record on Motion Detected. This system will record 24/7, I will see how quickly the hard drive fills up but I will guess i will get maybe 10 days. Previous NVR would record on motion only, it took over a year before rewriting. So if you need more archive consider a larger Hard Drive. Wish I had more adjustment on the NVR software, but it is sufficient.Overall a great product for the price, just wish the descriptions of "what is included" would have the catalog numbers. It is on the page explaining how the QP05YC will not work with older Q-see NVR. The NVR in the kit is a Qp08081nr which is also not shown in the description. The Manual was not included in package, download is only quick start info and limited information. I am using ip address and web browser for access, Q-See client software dosen't seem to retain layout (4 square) Web Browser will. The Iphone app has limitations and i find a longer delay than i would like when i reopen. Using Eufy, Ring and Q-see for years now and find access via App for Eufy and Ring has quick access and more features for adjustments.Glad to see Q-See is back and hope they can continue with updates, and increase product choices.

This human/car detecting DVR and camera system was attractive for the motion discrimination - being able to record or mark events where humans or vehicles entered and left the camera view is something I'd like.However, it doesn't have the ability to record only those events.Further, there is no masking. You can't 1) mask out areas to avoid motion event alerts or 2) mask out areas to never record for privacy reasons.This means that you have to aim the cameras so they don't see areas of high traffic OR turn off alerts for that camera.It also means you have to aim the cameras away from other homes as some court cases have succeeded in showing that an outdoor camera on your own property could be considered a privacy violation depending on where it's mounted and how it's aimed.Masking is meant to neatly handle both of those situations, and this system doesn't support that.The 60% price hike for human/car detection is largely rendered worthless by this, and this is only suitable for business 24/7 recording loop purposes where alerts are only on when the business is closed, and cameras are aimed so they only alert when someone is entering an area you always want an alert for.The one advantage to businesses is that this will trigger less frequently for animals and blowing trash, so you'll have to observe fewer events.So far as I can tell this is really only suited for a slight upgrade to a typical business 24/7 loop with alerts. For that it should work pretty well. It'll easily record 7 days before looping, and that's often long enough for major loss incidents to be detected and preserved. Additional storage can be attached for a longer loop if loss prevention requires it.The cameras aren't easy to get attached to other DVRs via onvif - it says that's what it uses but the configuration options seem limited. Perhaps there's a way, but at this price there are better options that are more standards compliant.
