No. You need the UV lamp or it will just stay sticky goo.

The color is gorgeous, neither warm nor cold, but a rich, bright but not at all neon, red. That's what it is in the regular polish, I have not as yet tried the gel.I have since tried the gel. The color is nearly identical to the regular polish, a rich fiery red. I did not find the gel to peel any quicker than other gel cremes. I've learned to use thinner and more coats (I do my nails myself) and to cure the last coat for twice as long.

Q: What do I use to take gel polish off?

Gel Polish needs to be removed with straight acetone. To start the process, use a 100/180 to remove the surface finish of the gel polish. Scuff it enough that you see deep grooves in the polish. This will help the acetone to penetrate faster. In a salon, the correct way is to place an acetone soaked bit of cotton to the surface of the nail, then wrap a small piece of aluminum foil around your finger to hold the cotton in place and to hold the heat in which makes the acetone penetrate faster. The directions say it comes off in 10 minutes, it's more like at least 15. When done properly, the gel polish will flake off. If some remains, either rewrap the nail to soak again or gently file it off. For at home use, it's faster and easier to pour a small amount of acetone in a small glass bowl, add a few drops of olive oil to lessen the drying properties of the acetone and soak your nails for 15 minutes. You'll still need to file the surface of the gel polish first doing it this way. If you put the small bowl of acetone down into another slightly larger bowl that has hot water in it, it will safely heat the acetone and it will work faster.
