Q: I am giving this as a bridesmaid gift how closely is the size to normal shirt sizes?

Well, pajamas tend to be much roomier than normal wearing apparel. A size medium pajama top would probably be the equivalent of a large or extra large fitted, button-up blouse. A size medium blouse with normal wearing ease (not oversized) would be about the same size as an extra small pajama top. Seems to me that if you’re at the wedding party gift selection stage, you probably already have all of the girls’ sizes and/or measurements from when you picked out the bridesmaid’s dresses. If not, well, it’s no biggie. You WANT Pajamas to fit kinda large. That’s why they fit looser than your regular clothes. A good general rule when shopping for pajamas for someone else is to pick their usual size and if there’s any doubt or the normal size isn’t available,, buy the next size up. One or even two sizes too big is better than even a little bit too tight. Very few of us conform perfectly to the measurements of our usual size. If someone wears a particular size but is very busty, round in the middle or bottom heavy- defintely go up a size. Don’t go nuts- there is such a thing as pj’s being TOO big! My MiL does special holiday jammies & I was given a mens’ size Xl. I looked like I had shrunk! The roominess was fine but I could barely keep the bottoms on. I had to cinch the waist up as tight as it would go AND fold it over just to keep them on. And I may actually have ditched the bottoms to actually fall asleep.

Q: Is it machine dryable?

I washed and dried mine on a regular cycle. The load included jeans; not gonna lie, I really wasn’t paying attention, but they came out great!

Q: I am 5’2 about 185lbs. What size should I get?

I would say a 2x but the legs area is tight
