it's doesn't work when unplugged. very very disappointed

the product does several functions, my only issue is that the instructions are sparse concerning how to use all of the features. case in point- I was awakened at midnight the night after I set the unit up, as I didn't realize I had activated the alarm. it's SO FUN to find the off button when you're half asleep... some features are not very intuitive. But, overall, it has many features and initially they all work. Fortunately, I haven't had to use it yet, but ill update if I do.

I knocked this down to four stars (originally was going to give it a one as the radio wasn’t working) because the instructions on how to make the radio work are as clear as mud! The only way I figured it out was to come here to the reviewer section and see how others did it. I nearly just tossed it in a closet as nothing more than a backup flashlight since initially that was all that worked and ordered a new, different one, here on Amazon. Spending money I wouldn’t have needed to all because the instructions are a joke. Fortunately I canceled that order in time.Now that it’s working it’s a great little unit to add to a couple more I have and I just hope it lives up to its longevity promises if we have a power outage out here in the desert where it’s no joke. My suggestion if you live in a likely power outage area is to slowly buy these type of things one at a time until you have several (4 or 5 or whatever for where you live) and than, if you need to, you can constantly string the use of them, one after the other, together. Using one (or more) while the others are recharging will mean you’ll always be in communication.Remember the solar and hand cranking charging on all of these kind of radios is always very, very, very slow no matter what brand or model you buy, so be smart and get backups for the backups! In a serious situation you’ll be glad you did.

La inversión a sido buena. Lo recomiendo. Solo lo utilizo unas horas en la mañana y lo mantengo como un equipo para caso de emergencia.

I reported that the radio stopped working. To fix it I learned to hold the power button in while hitting the alert/band button. Now it works very well. only one gripe now, and that is the solar charger. it lifts up to get the right angle on the sun but doing that automatically turns on the reading lamp that drains the battery. similar units have a switch that controls the lamp.

Looks nice. Doesn't work as advertised.Will only turn on if hooked to power outlet or constantly cranking.Missed the return window so now it's just garbage. Buyer beware.

This radio is the perfect size for travel or camping. The battery keeps a great charge and last a long time.
