If you like to read about physics, science combined with some mysticism read this book.
As a senior citizen who is still fascinated with astronomy, cosmology, time travel, astral projection, parallel worlds and universes, quantum physics and universal consciousness I am always seeking more books to read on these topics. While shopping on Amazon I came across this interesting 143 page book (Dr. Quantum’s little book of big ideas: where science meets spirit by Fred Alan Wolf, Ph.D.) and I decided to purchase it.This interesting and informative volume has various carefully chosen excerpts from the author’s many books and interviews. The cover a wide range of topics related to time, space, quantum physics and universal consciousness. This little book is funny but also has a lot of excellent practical scientific information along with exploring the relationship between consciousness and the universe.Numerous topics are covered such as the observer effect on quantum physics, principle of complementarity, parallel universes, memory, a new alchemy, cause and effect, matter from mind, natural selection, intent, time and other subjects. This book is written in a simple and easy to read format making it a good page turning volume. If you are interested in Quantum Physics and relative topics you may want to check out this informative little book.Rating: 4 Stars. Review: Dr. Quantum's Little Book of Big Ideas (Alan Wolf)
This wonderful and profound jewel of a book is written in an almost lyrical form describing the quantum world in scientific, philosophical, spiritual, and metaphysical terms. All of the fundamental mysteries of quantum mechanics are discussed such as our consciousness as the creator of reality, birth and death as an illusion, non-locality, oneness, I-ness, the source of time, et all, are summarized in a very accessible and informal way. Sometimes there is only one sentence on a page and at other times there are several pages on one subject, but Dr. Wolf always makes his point. Each point is a thought-provoking commentary; your imagination will fly.If the quantum world is as described in this book, then our future will be incredibly different than we can even image. This reads like science fiction, fantasy, and magic rolled into one, but it is a presentation of what science knows about reality and much of it has actually been confirmed by laboratory experiments over and again, all conducted by highly qualified scientists around the globe. The front cover might leave the impression that this is a cartoonish book; it's not. If you are a fan of quantum mechanics, this is a must read; you will not be disappointed.Rich

Abolutly Stunning!
Dr Wolf had done it again! He has brought us tidbits of wisdom from science, that challenge our religion thought, while reminding us of true spirituality. There are few other out there that can convey the really big ideas from quantum physics present them in a way that make you think, make you reflect and make you go, Wow!Dr Wolf doesn't dance around the topic by eluding the reader with heady researched base theory but presents what he's learned in a way that let us challenge our world the way he challenges his. After even a few short pages you will have to stop and catch your breath and look around you a bit. Ideas like, we create not only the present but the future and the past. "Mere observation is enough to alter the history of anything or anyone, even a whole country."Although a small short book, the depth of the thought contained therein is indeed very rich, very potent and very rewarding. It reminds us of what we do really know, even though we may not have studied it, and offer the opportunity knock down the walls of our beliefs to gain a fresh look at reality and consciousness.

Thought provoking ideas
A small book, yet filled with big ideas as the title suggests. It's not the best book to use as a starter for learning about quantum physics, but more as a reminder of the amazing things that have been discovered in the field of quantum physics. Is it all science and only facts? No, but I don't think that's the intention of Fred Alan Wolf. The book takes it a step further and offers some thought provoking ideas. But hey, this is what Einstein also did: "What would happen if I were riding on a beam of light..." and it's called creativity. Only later were his ideas proven to be correct, and maybe that will be the case too with the ideas of Wolf. Who knows? Exactly! And that's congruent with the fundamentals of quantum physics ;)

Quantum Physics Lite
I bought this book because I've recently read and enjoyed "The Field", and, "The Intention Experiment". Both books expand on the way in which thoughts influence and shape our lives and the world through quantum physics."Dr. Quantum's Little Book Of Big Ideas..." is a collection of commentary and thoughts on quantum theory, for the layman. It puts ideas into short, useable, bite-sized pieces. This book is best suited to the person who is curious about the "thoughts are things" idea and would like some understandable ideas on it. For more advanced students of the theories, this is probably a bit simplistic.I enjoyed it because it lets me read and think about an idea, then research it later if I'm curious.

Learn complicated stuff and have fun too!
I've been reading Fred Allen Wolfe's books on quantum physics for years now. My wife if very curious and fascinated but finds it hard to just jump into his books. Along comes Dr. Quantum which does not overwhelm the reader but does seduce the reader ever so cleverly into wanting to learn more and to take the time to stay with the more complicated full volumes. We actually (Pardon us, Fred) use it as a bathroom reader which gives us the chance to begin the day with something really fun and challenging with which to begin the day. We cannot recommend it highly enough youngsters and for adults who want to begin to learn about quantum physics. Now, if only Michio Kaku would put together a similar volume!

It was OK
I was looking for more explanation into quantum physics and it became more woo-woo as it went along. Don't get me wrong, I love woo-woo but it wasn't what I expected. It was also very short, small book.

A Must Own
This is the best book ever for someone looking for a way to put their spiritual beliefs and their faith in science together on the same page. Fred Alan Wolf is simply brilliant and so gifted in communicating complex ideas in a simple way. A book I will keep going back to and referring (not lending mind you - it would never come back) to friends.
