Immersive Dive Into The Trenches of Combat
This book represents the perfect balance between the concepts that every technology and security professional should know about incident response and forensics and how all of this applies in our daily lives through the stories and experiences shared by Devon. Even if you are a professional with a considerable level of experience in Incident Response, as I am, this book is for you. During the reading I was able to revisit several technical concepts (processes, artifacts, etc) learned over years of participation in various technical courses, however explained in a friendly, practical and easy to understand way. The book is mandatory reading for professionals who deal or may deal at any time with a security incident, that is, it is for everyone, from the C-Level to the Lawyer and the Technician.I am even more inspired to follow my journey of evolution with the stories and experiences shared by Devon and look forward to the next issue.

It was about time for a book from Devon :)
Devon wrote a good book on past and current DFIR trends with good case examples. I read the book as intended (through the perspective of decision-makers, not a practitioner) and it does well to explain the processes of a business being impacted by a cyber attack. There is a high-level explanation of forensic processes and artifacts, which would benefit those having limited knowledge of digital forensics/incident response terms. The importance of this information to C-level management is important to make actionable decisions. For those entering the DFIR field, Devon's book does a nice job of describing the DFIR field's responsibility of handling incidents which should help newcomers decide the path they wish to take (ie: pure forensics vs incident response). My personal DFIR book library looks like the Amazon search results for "digital forensics" and this is one of the books that fit on my shelf. It is about time that I see Devon Ackerman's name on a book on my shelf.
