This pot is small but handy, if you want to serve guests go a size up though!
This pot is smaller than you will think when it arrives- despite this, it actually holds more than 4 cups for me.The China cups I drink from are about 7 or 8 ounces. This pot can give me at least 6 cups of tea for that amount. If you drink tea from a standard mug you will probably get at least four full mugs. It’s deceiving in how much water it can hold.Do be aware that this is definitely a personal size teapot. You could serve two people comfortably but this is primarily a smaller size. I think in the future I will order the 6 or 10 cup pot for ease of serving guests. As far as the actual teapot is concerned , it is beautifully made. It came packed well with its own box and bubble wrap/ paper. Other reviewers noted that this pot DOES get very hot on the lid and handle . I think this is primarily because the pot is smaller and doesn’t leave room for the heat to escape like it would in a larger pot. Just use a tea towel or pot holder to pour it after it has sat for a few minutes. The handle did cool after some time while still keeping the contents hot.It is made very well. The glazing is extremely pretty and silky smooth to the touch. I’m very impressed with it . The tea I had brewed in it was excellent as well. I don’t know how much the teapot contributes to tea flavor, but it was especially good this time.Worth buying , beautiful quality, made in England. Checks all the boxes.

Best Teapot Ever Made!
I’m sorry it took me so long to get my “Brown Betty”.Super pouring spout and keeps my tea nice and hot! I do recommend using a quality tea cozy to extend your tea drinking enjoyment. The size is just right and it’s not too heavy for me (older lady with a bit of arthritis in my hands). I really appreciate the quality of this teapot! I have a few teapots and now I just use this one! Thanks for making the best teapot I’ve ever used!

The Most Precious Little Pot!
I love this pot. It is a reproduction of the original terracotta Brown Betty, which I wanted for the unique look! I bought the two cup size because it’s just for me! It works with loose leaf and a strainer or my whole leaf pyramid bags. And it does hold the heat and is clear glazed inside so cleaning is just a hot water rinse after the initial cleaning. Really does live up to the name! So glad I treated myself!

So so happy
Love this tea pot. I chose the Matt finish to save money, I don’t regret my choice but the feel of the finish took me a bit to get use to. The inside of teapot is glazed. All in all the teapot is very attractive. My earl grey tastes wonderful, stays hot a very long time , teapot filled with water is still light weight I have no problem lifting it and the handle stays cool to the touch. I enjoy the amount of tea this pot holds. Teapot makes me very happy

Great little teapot, but not maintenance-free
The price of the humble brown betty is gradually creeping up, but it's sturdy, not made in China, and cute, so it remains worth it. It needs to be handled with care, though. It's not dishwasher safe. It does need to be heated under the tap before pouring in boiled water. Pouring water straight from the kettle into a room temperature pot is going to result in cracks. And a design flaw is that the handle is too close to the body of the pot to be used without scalding your knuckles, so a mitt or towel is a must when handling. Invest in a wood or cork trivet since knocking it against hard granite or marble countertops is an easy way to damage it. But with some TLC, it's a great little pot.

Brown Betty - A tea lovers pot
Teapots are tough to keep alive on a granite counter. The lids are always the first to go and you never can order another. The Brown Betty is a very sturdy pot. I don't recommend dropping it but it did live through the first faux pas. If it does break, the cost is economical enough to replace. The 8 cup pot is fantastic. It stays hotter than my other pot experiences and pours beautifully. I am now Brown Betty convert.
