Bought this for drilling hole in pearls. Absolute rubbish. Pearls are hard so there is no way a manual drill is going to work. I started with the smallest bit which broke after the slightest pressure applied. As for the vice, it clamps adequately, but not enough for a small pearl. The pearl keeps falling sideways, which can damage the pearl if you are applying significant pressure. I’ve actually given up with this and resorted to using my small electric drill - this is still laborious but a lot more effective than this manual drill. A
