High-quality construction. Beauty and function
My home dining experience has improved ever since buying this salt mill, together with a black pepper mill from the same company. It grinds well, has a nice heft in the hand, and has enamel that is quite stain-resistant in my experience.

Pepper is way pepperier.
This is a weird thing to admit, but pepper tastes WAY pepperier with this thing. I've been using a crazy-cheap no-name pepper mill for the last... 12 years that was gifted to us for our wedding. It cracked pepper and that's about all it did. In my search for a better pepper mill as I got more comfortable with cooking I found the Fletchers mill. Mostly because I explicitly wanted one made in the USA.It's a quality piece and demands it's price. The grind-size is very consistent once set and doesn't drift. The grind mechanism is a burr-type that looks incredibly similar to my coffee grinder. I got the cherry finish and it looks really great. The capacity does seem a bit low to me; it seems as though it only holds a couple tablespoonfuls of peppercorns. I ordered the 8-inch version. Obviously a larger/taller grinder will hold more, so I'm not complaining here, just making an observation. What really surprises me is just how much more pronounced of a pepper flavor comes from a consistently and well-ground peppercorn. I've used it at very coarse settings for crusting steaks and very fine settings for sauces and it's worked incredibly well. It's much faster than expected, too. I can get enough ground pepper for my needs in probably 1/4 of the turns that I was accustomed to. Unless something catastrophically fails with this mill I can imagine that it'll be the only one I need for a very, very long time, if not ever.

Lovely - shakes salt sparingly
This is a beautiful salt shaker: well made and of nice wood. and matches the random pepper grinder I've had for years. I have two comments to make:1) the holes are small and I'm using regular, iodized table salt, so be prepared to shake several extra times if you like more than a pinch!2) The bottom of the canister has a silicone plug for refilling, which is all well and good except that you have to turn the shaker upside down to refill the salt. The salt then spills out through the holes, albeit slowly (see note above). I would recommend to the company that they redesign the shaker to have a screw top opening, which can easily be concealed in the lines of the aesthetic design and is much more practical and user-friendly.Other than that, a lovely, decorative, and purposeful salt shaker!

Where have you been all my life?!
I love pepper. My small children love pepper. My husband loves pepper. Now, I have gotten several pepper mills and I don’t know which is worse than the other. They seem to work fine for like a month, and then all hell breaks loose. I twist and turn, and shake, and clean, and get nothing but a handful of irregular crappy specs of pepper, if any. Now, I sue my pepper mill not just in the final dish, but while I’m cooking. Think about a pot steaming tons of oil and vapor… most pepper mills stop functioning right there. I think humidity just kills them right there. Now, I did some research and narrowed it down to this pepper mill. It is expensive (almost 60 bucks for a stupid pepper mills?!), but figured after so much ranting and complaining with every other, I figured was worth the try. I ordered.Worked like a dream… once…twice…10 times… 100 times. Over steaming pot, scorching oil…you name it. It never ever fumbled. Now the powdered pepper is very very even. You can see from the picture is a very nicely milled pepper.I got mine in light blue…super cute! But that is irrelevant, or rather say an extra. What is best is the mill itself. Very sturdy, mills anything and everything in the most consistent way ever, which to me is just amazing. Is the best mill I have ever owned and HIGHLY recommend. It’s pricey, yes, but after many many cheap mills that just refuse to work after a couple weeks, this is absolutely worthy. Every time I cook I pull out this baby and can add as much pepper as I want, even I’m my pot is steaming like crazy. Doesn’t matter. This bad boy will do the job.

I admittedly thought it was a pepper mill at first, but a great salt mill
I am not entirely sure how this will hold up as to my understanding salt is INCREDIBLY hard on mills, but for now at least I find it an impressively essential part of my kitchen - it pairs well with my pepper mill as effective gadget, its incredibly pretty, and it gives you the ability to have an adjustable grind on salt all the way from a super light dusting to a coarser finishing.

Good grinder but tiny reservoir
We like the grinder but it seems like we need to fill it every couple of days. The reservoir is tiny compared to our previous grinder.

Not the model that we ordered and doesn't work well for a coarse grind.
We received a model that was different from the picture but it was nice enough so we kept it. Loved it at first but after a couple of months we notice that it seemed to bind and stick on occasion. We adjusted it frequently to try and resolve the issue and removed and cleaned the grinding wheels. Made no real difference. What have found is that it does not work well if you like coarsely ground pepper. When set to a coarse grind it sticks and binds. We have to set it to a fine grind in order for it to work reliably but we prefer coarse grind. We will be buying a different grinder as a result.
