The smell from chemical tanning products is MUCH worse and not safe for your home. All tanned leather will have a strong smell the first 2-4 weeks. Since we are a small business, we only tan a small amount of leather at a time making each piece of furniture as needed, therefore all very NEW items need evaporation/"breathe" time. To accelerate the tanning solution evaporation process, leave the leather in a room with an open window/door with airflow (even better, leave it outdoors in the sun during the day). I also like adding DRYER SHEETS, NEWSPAPERS, and BAKING SODA inside WITH the stuffing. To really accelerate the deodorizing, scrub the leather with an OIL based detergent and leave it to air dry.

Nice Morrocan Poufs but didnt last!
In the begining, Love my leather moroccan poufs. Took a while to air out but the smell is almost gone. Stuffed them with old newspapers. Got a lot of compliments from family & guests. Would recommend to All! Update(7-31-18): Still love my poofs, however, thought the smell was gone, NOT! Especially on hot & humid days-go figure🤔. Sorry, but the smell is just too much for us. Even after all these months & all the compliments.😔 Y'all beware of the long lasting smell. Update(8-11-18), for some reason the smell has gotten worse. I had to unstuff them & put them in my back yard to air out. I honestly believe that these 2 poufs were not treated at all because they smell like a goat's ass, that's what our guests say anyway, excuse my french. I wanted to order more & others wanted them as well but after this experience I think NOT! SO DISAPPOINTED! Update(9-18-18): I put them outside to air again and they molded horribly(see pics), now they are garbage & I am out $160. Long story short, I am awaiting for "Six Canyons" to get back to me so that we can remedy the situation. Update(9-19-18), Six Canyons has stepped up and refunded me in full and I am thankful to them. I am a passionate supporter of small businesses & am so glad we came to a positive conclusion. Thank You Six Canyons!

Excellent
Arrived promptly. Well packaged. Reviews had referenced an odor from the leather. Upon opening, yeah, slight leather aroma, but dissipated in minutes. Used old queen pillows to stufd. Love it. Actually prefer filling it myself. No worries about it loosing shape. Looks fantastic. The stitching adds enough detail and the leather is free from tooling and design found in similar ottomans. Large enough to double as an extra seat or with a tray, added serving space. Feel we made a real "find" coming across this.

THESE ARE NOT FILLED...COVERS ONLY.
YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT THESE ARE ONLY COVERS, THEY DO NOT COME FILLED.They are a great looking item and well made but the lack of a paired fill option is a negative. I didn't expect to have to figure out what to effectively fill them with once I got them.They do smell a bit but it goes away fairly quickly so it's not a big issue.I would have given a 5 star rating if filled. Because of the hassle of fuguring out what to fill them with it's only 3 stars.

Color is a very reddish brown
Color isn’t really as shown in the pictures, it’s a very reddish brown that clashes particularly strongly with my green velvet couch. Otherwise quality is decent, and yes there’s a strong smell. Kind of a gamey leather smell rather than a good leather smell. Tolerable, though.

Nice but has a smell
Looks nice but it has taken over 3 weeks to get the smell out. Must be a Moroccan leather.
