Another Masterpiece In Every Sense Of The Word
Transformers Review: Masterpiece BluestreakPoor Bluestreak, over the years he's been largely ignored with very few version releases. Even his original Generation One toy didn't really get a more screen accurate version until around 2002, his original toy was very much silver despite his animation model having a very different colour scheme.Plus Bluestreak's animation colours weren't even blue, they were black and silver, the actual blue colour scheme was for the Diaclone toy that would later become Bluestreak in the Transformers franchise.Due to this an actual Bluestreak Generation One toy with accurate colours is very much sought after by many collector's, which has led to very expensive and frankly over the top prices from those selling him.Bluestreak seems to have a possible aspect to his character if his bio is anything to go by, it indicates that Bluestreak may be suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, which he tries to hide with his attempts at humour and his chatterbox ways. It's a pity really that Bluestreak's character in the comics and cartoon were never explored.~Alt Mode:Like Prowl, Bluestreak's alt mode is a Nissan Fairlady 280Z-T, however he is retooled in areas while also being a complete repaint. His colours in this mode are silver and black, the silver is along the sides with silver framing of the headlights and clear roof windows, the black is along the top of the car mode. The black is a beautiful contrast with the silver and fairly makes the car mode stand out when it comes to the colours. He doesn't come with the light bar that Prowl has, so to slot his rifle in car mode you have to open him and flip out a small tab where the rifle can be slotted into.Aside from the retooling of the car mode and the new paint job, it looks very much the same as Prowl in everything else and that isn't a bad thing, if anything it makes Bluestreak stand out even more in comparison to Prowl's colour scheme.Bluestreak's alt mode may look plain to many, but his lack of flair when it comes to the lack of additions like a light bar actually work very well and makes him look visually striking.~Robot Mode:His transformation is exactly like Prowl's, it works very well, is very fluid and easy to learn. The joints feel tighter than Prowl's, but I'm sure they loosen up over time.In robot mode you can see several differences due to the colours and new head sculpt, the head sculpt is a little less severe than Prowl's and the head crest isn't as pronounced. It's still red, but it's smaller and fits well with the redesigned head that is very cartoon accurate. The new colours work with the addition of the led legs and torso, making him look even more visually striking. Plus the small addition of a retooled crotch piece and a bright silver waist. The hands are a dark grey with black forearms, bright silver elbow joints and a dark grey upper arm, in the legs you can see red shins through the clear windows and the nees are black. These differences in colour make for a figure that really does stand out in a very good way. Also since Bluestreak had his cannons flipped out all the time in bot mode in the comics and cartoon then you can do that here with the addition in-built launchers and they also look screen accurate. There is even the beautiful red in the inside of the doors.Everything else is pretty the same, the rifle has a dark grey handle instead of a white one like Prowl's has. This is one beautiful looking figure.~The retooling and repainting for Bluestreak truly help with making the figure very distinctive, he is worthy of being called a Masterpiece, although how many are likely to go for him is hard to say, but he well worth picking up. Beautiful, truly beautiful.Highly recommended.

Another fine figure from the masterpiece range
This Bluestreak (aka Streak) action figure is another addition to the Transformers masterpiece range, reinventing some of the most popular or famous of the generation 1 Transformers, but with increased level of detail. The figure is built along identical specifications as several other toys in the range, including Prowl and Smokescreen, and like those other characters transformers into a Nissan Fairlady motorvehicle. As with the rest of the range, the figure stands approximately 6" tall, has an incredible similarity to the animated or comic-book version of the character, and has an incredible amount of articulation. The figure comes armed with his Disperser rifle, and unlike most of the other characters based on the initial range of Transformers toys, Bluestreaks shoulder launchers are actual integral and contained within the body of the figure itself. The figure transformers broadly in the same manner that the original toy did, with the exception that the legs are somewhat more complicated in design, and he looks terrific. The only problem really is that the price of these masterpiece figures extortionate, well beyond the means of most people for what is simply a collectable.
