Excellent quality knife. (Would expect no less from Japan.)

This 'utility' knife was sturdy and well made. It was not razor sharp. Razors are very sharp because the metal is very thin before sharpening. The knife metal was much thicker so grinding a V on its edge only makes it sharpish. As a utility knife I expected to be able to peel and slice with it. However the heel of the knife is sharp and pointed and easily cuts the thumb when peeling. It would be better if the heel was angled away from the hand.The ‘paring’ knife has no such drawback. The heel of this knife curves nicely away from the thumb. It is very fit for purpose.Most of the weight of the knife is in the handle. The handle sits comfortably and firmly in the hand when used, enabling the blade to be precisely directed.The knife is well engineered. It has a robust, sturdy appearance. The surface of the blade is nicely polished. The handle has a matt surface which is less likely to slip in the hand. The edge of the blade is sharp but not very sharp. A sharper edge would require a single bevel or a thinner blade and would probably need more frequent sharpening.In short, this is a very good knife that is likely to give many years of good service.

The knife is very sharp but after 4 mnths starting to get rust spots. Not good

Amazing knife for every day use, extremely sharp blade right from the box and well balanced. I love the handle, not only it is comfortable to use and hold but handle itself has very smooth, texture, finished with resin instead having rough wood which is like sandpaper after while. This one is perfect for every day cooking.

It does not stay sharp for long...less then a week I would say and then needs sharpening :) maybe I got a bad one :) you never know.

This is a really good quality knife with a nice weight to it and very sharp. time will tell if the quality is there, but so far so good.

You get what you pay for for the price it's ok does the job
