Nice and Tasty Low Carb Soup
Got this today and just had my first tin. Yes, as mentioned by another reviewer, there are some small white balls in the tin but they soon dissipate when heated. I would have said they were part of the yeast extract but not really sure or maybe they are part of the proteins? Anyway, after 10 mins on the stove on setting 5 or 6 out of 9 on my hob, it was ready. The sherry flavour is not so prevalent as say the Baxters but I think that the beef flavour comes through more. I really liked it. The only disappointment was the apparent lack of gelatin as I was going to give some tins to my father who has joint problems and gelatin works like collagen in that respect. Still, I'll get him some to add in when he heats it up. So basically all good and if you are on a Keto or low carb diet then I think this is perfect for a meal and maybe for some people it could be used on a "fast" day with just under 28 calories for the tin.

Cheap and tastes like it
Thin, tasteless and not a patch on Baxter’s consommé

A very good base
This is a very good product. But, be aware, it is not similar to its main competitor. The other brand of beef consume has been considerably 'pimped-up'. Accordingly, it is presented as a superior product and priced accordingly. The John Lusty product is very much more a raw product. In this case, the purchaser can make any additions to suit him or herself. That being the case, the base has a very satisfying flavour. It can be improved with a dash of Bovril, sherry and as much Tabasco as you dare. An excellent remedy for a cold day

Weak taste
If you take a tin of Baxters beef consomme and add 2 tins of water, you get this soup. Weak, with little taste. However a teaspoon of bovril will improve that. On the plus side, the whole tin is less than 30 calories, so if your;e weight watching, and don't mind sacrificing taste for calories, this would be a good buy.
