Work Great with 1" drill bit
These are exactly what you expect. Main thing I wanted to point out is these only require a 1" drill bit. Other reviews note 1-1/4" bit which would be way too large.1" fits perfectly.

Orientation
All the photos are showing the guard 90 degrees out of the correct orientation. The slot should face up

Nail Guard too long for intended use
Nail Guard is much too long for a standard 2x4. Not long enough for doubled 2x4 or lengthwise use. All the photo's on the website only show the guard from one side, none of the photo's show how far it sticks out the other end. Nail guard is approx 0.06 in thick (1.7mm), but there is some thickness variations. Didn't install any, but it looks like it needs a 1" diameter hole to fit into. There are no instructions in the box on what size hole they recommend. You could use it if you don't care how far it sticks out the other side, but when you need to bend the wire to get to any electrical box you'll have to watch how you bend it so the wire isn't sitting on the edge of the nail guard. I chose to send them back, just don't like the guard sticking out that far. Wasn't interested in cutting them down to fit flush. You'll have to decide how willing you are to use them.
