Backbeat Books Act Naturally: The Beatles on Film

I enjoyed all the information about The Beatles films but what surprised me is that the book contains a ton of information about songs the Beatles were recording while they were making movies. If you want to learn as much as you can about The Beatles, I recommend you read this book.

With so many books on the Beatles already available, Steve Matteo’s well-researched title takes a good look at an area outside all that glorious Fab music: The Beatles on film, then and now. With the group’s appearances explored alongside the whole of British cinema from the ‘60s and into the early ‘70s, the reader is more fully immersed in all that John, Paul, George & Ringo contributed and achieved in relation to movie cameras. The typeface is a little teensier than most older readers would like, but all in all this is a solid and absorbing piece of work.

Must read for all music, movie, Beatle and pop culture fans ! Matteo's tome is masterfully researched. The book takes us on a magical, mystical ride through a period of time that we'll never see or hear again. Weaving culture, music and film Act Naturally was a joy to read! Mandatory reading over the holidays!

Interesting facts I never knew, such as the cinematic influence the Beatles films had on movies made years and decades later. Beatles fans will surely enjoy this book!

As a life long Beatles fan, it was fun to find out little things I didn't know, and to have that information at my finger tips...a great addition to my Beatles library.
