but at the end of the day it all comes to " you like it or not
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Today I received this knife and decided to write the review. Usually, I do not do it unless I am impressed with what I got.Being a blade collector for many years I can bother you with many details about this blade, but at the end of the day it all comes to " you like it or not." I can tell you that this one is a keeper. The knife is very well balanced to my standards and should keep the edge very well assuming it made of 67 layers of Damascus. It seems that it was sharpened at 10-12 degrees, so it should work well with most of the kitchen sharpeners. Personally, I would give special treatment to this blade and do hand honing just because of the beautiful Damascus pattern on the blade.I was very impressed with the attention to details. The box is immaculate and seems to be made of some exotic wood. The handle is a Sandalwood according to the writing on the package, it is somewhat rare in knife making.Bottom line, I give it five stars because of high quality, attention to details and reasonable price assuming all above.

I like cooking a lot
I like cooking a lot, have plenty knives as well as 3 Japanese ones. In my experience the kitchen should have a lot of knives. Each one must have its own advantages and I carefully choose every one. Externally, this one is very beautiful and pleases the eye. All materials are of superior quality throughout the body. Blade has a great design with manufacturer's logo right on its side along with designation of steel grade. Out of all the cool knives i have that I have, this VG 10 is the best. I collect them as my hobby and I love Damascus steel. Damascus isn't a material but a complex forging process. Damascus blade is clearly high-grade; the pattern is quite complex with crossing layers, which indicates high strength of the metal. Sturdy blade has a heavy bolster for defending the hand, like a rear forged knife should. The spine is straight and the handle is very comfortable for good grip, it's also very well balanced. The knife is so sharp that it cuts without the slightest effort. This knife adds real pleasure to the cooking process and I felt like an experienced surgeon when I was cutting meat.Shortcomings:A. It does require care. It does not tolerate dishwasher and abrasive cleaners. I wash it with a sponge and water.B. As any valuable and beautiful thing, it requires a separate place for storage. I had to buy additional magnetic holder.C. It's not suitable for any frozen food or bones. But, I don't really pay attention to this because it's really well made knife.

Don't waste your money
Uncomfortable to hold, not as sharp as I would've expected, clearly not actually damascus. Tip of my knife chipped off would return.

I'm very pleased with my purchase
I wanted to get some grown up knife because was tried of the low quality sets. My friend from Germany advised me to look for Kopfinder. I decided to try. This is a really good purchase, not cheap, but it is worth this money. The knife easily and well cuts. Quality of the blade and the design and comfort of the handle are perfect. With my 8 inch chef knife I cook with a pleasure.

Best buy this year
One thing I wanted this year was a really nice kitchen knife, but it needed to be a real chef's knife of damascus steel with ultra sharp 8 inch blade and a comfortable wooden handle. Also I didn't want a set, I wanted just one good knife. It was my first experience with Kopfinder knife and this experience was successful. This knife is excellent.

Best knife ever. Very sharp and comfortable to use
After long research, I decided to buy Kopfinder Chef knife. Started to use it immediately, mostly preparing salads. In our family trying to eat raw food. It is absolutely amazing knife, I never had knife like that before. So sharp and comfortable to use, it saves a lot of time in re kitchen. It cuts vegetables and fish so easy and no need to press on knife at all. I can tell, it worth the money, even though it is not a cheap one. I guess you get what paid.

Not Forged, Not Japanese Steel
This product is NOT forged. The lines on the blade are etched. A true forged node should show the layers on the edge of the blade. This product is of Chinese origin, and is probably misrepresenting the quality and construction of the blade.
