Achingly beautiful! I will never recover.
Very few times in life, will you pick up a book and know EXACTLY... that it was written entirely for you. This is one of those books. I don't even want to share it with any of you, I want it to be mine and mine alone. I just cried myself stupid at the thought of it being over, of not sharing stolen moments with Will and Rosie. Will and Rosie meet as teenagers, and it's quite obvious it isn't just teenage infatuation. They never date. He is him, and she is her. Rosie makes it clear that her studies and her future plans will always come first. But that doesn't stop the attraction. It doesn't stop them constantly finding their way back to one another. But then the worst thing imaginable happens and what they could have had, they now can't have. It has changed and destroyed both their lives forever!Even so, as the days/years pass, they continually find themselves always coming back to each other. That undeniable chemistry and deep longing never goes away.I am absolutely obsessed with this book and will be forever more. This will be a story I will come back to time and time again and I will never tire from it.I DEVOURED this book.It is achingly beautiful.Heart-stoppingly good.A book to be cherished.I'm off to cry myself to sleep. Nothing I write will do this book justice, these words mean nothing. They are an injustice to the masterpiece I've just irrevocably fallen in love with.

Beautiful and poetic
Talking At Night is Claire Daverley’s debut novel. A powerful love story between Will and Rosie, two teenagers that meet at college and, despite a terrible accident when they are young, they cannot let each other go, circling around each other as the years progress. The story takes place over two decades and is told from both their points of view as they deal with the incident that links them together but also tears them apart, unable to truly give up on each other.Daverley’s prose is poetic and captivating throughout as she produces a beautiful character-driven novel about being unable to let your first love go, filled with missed chances and deep undeniable longing. The novel doesn’t shy away from serious topics, showing that both characters struggle with the event that happened years ago.All in all, Daverley’s offering is a beautiful love story filled with characters that feel realistic as they deal with the realities of life.

Beautiful book
Of course people will say it’s just Normal People but it’s so much more than this… brilliantly written, great characters, loved it.
