Bahco650 Carbide Edged Power Scraper, 2 - Inch

I don't normally write reviews, but this product blew me away. I've spent the past weeks laboriously stripping paint and wallpaper from walls in my own home and at a friend's place. It has been tiring and awful, especially with the heat, and has taken me such a long time to make even the slightest progress.I tried standard scrapers and stanley blade ones, but the blades became dull so quickly I was going through an unreasonable number of blades or working with dull blades so my efforts resulted in chipping the plaster more than removing the paint. On top of that, a lot of effort was required for each area and I ended up spraining my hand and developing callouses.Before long I started to look for other items... scoring tools, solutions... I tried them all with very little success. Solutions were messy to apply, had long waiting times or were just too expensive for the large areas I needed to strip. The worst ones barely seemed to make a difference.I searched online and came across this. The reviews seemed too good to be to true, but I had no other options and decided to give it a try. It was more than I would usually spend, but at this stage I knew it would be cheaper overall than constantly buying more blades/stripping solutions, if it lived up to expectations.Came through my door a few hours ago and I couldn't wait to try it. Straight out the box it was bigger than a lot of the other scrapers, but the ergonomic handle and extra grip knob made it easy to handle and direct. I took it to a patch I had been working on and scraped it down; with just a bit of effort a ribbon of paint came away from the wall. It was like cutting through butter!I was ECSTATIC. I had to try more... I ended up finishing stripping a whole alcove because it was so easy. Even when there wasn't an edge to scrape from, dragging the scraper on the paint a few times would reveal the plaster below with startling efficiency. Furthermore, there was minimal damage to the plaster below - with other scrapers there were chips and notches everywhere, whilst here there was only some sparse damage (which may well have been due to my own eagerness/haste).Best of all - my hand did not ache afterwards, I felt like I could go on for hours! The blade is extremely resilient and sharp and the handle has a great comfortable design making it a formidable tool. Cannot recommend enough.

Very effective for getting into nooks and crannies. Blade is sharp and effective making removing paint easy.

Using this to scrape the bottom of our boat. The one we had before broke (was used for something it was not made to do). So needed a new one.This one arrived in good time and of course does the job.Pros:ergonomicscrapes wellCons:narrow head so only does a small area at a timeif you hold it at the wrong angle it digs in rather than scrapes and scrapes even less.A must tool however for scraping paint, however long it takes.

A fabulous product

I wanted a durable scraper for exterior house decorating. I was initially sceptical as the finish was a bit underwhelming for the price; The blade holder could be better; the knob seems to be an after thought. Nevertheless, this is a very effective tool. The carbide blade stays sharp and it goes on and on scraping mortar, paint you name it.

i love the size of this tool which i find so easy to use, the blade is still sharp after doing 3 walls and i havent rotated it yet, it has 3 sides of blades as it is triangular. easy to use -strong and i love the holster it comes with, forget the others this is just what i have been searching for.

I used this after sanding my 125 year old floorboards as the corners cant be reached by the sanding machines i used, worked like a charm! each corner took seconds to scrape down to fresh wood, even areas with several layers of paint.

Makes light work of removing old finishes from awkward bits of furniture. Much easier than attempting to sand or using nasty paint stripper!

This is a great tool for stripping the stain off my old dresser I was refinishing, definitely recommend!

Caulking has to be one of the most unappealing DIY home maintenance chores. I have learned that the annual expense of paying to have it inspected and properly restored is considerable. And the cost of neglecting it can run into the tens of thousands. A neighbor did not maintain his caulking on his new home for several years. This resulted in severe exterior and interior damage from water infiltration. His total cost of repairs: Over $130,000. After cutting expired caulk, this tool is essential for scraping the remaining fragments so that your new bead of caulk will have a better chance of adhering to the substrate (window, siding, molding).Pros: Ergonomic, excellent grip, the replaceable blade is extremely hard and should last several seasons.Cons: Outrageously expensive but I believe it's worth every penny.

Have not found anything that works better and faster at scraping old paint off the wood siding. Comfortable and less messy than other scrapers I used in the past. I was able to keep the sanding part to a minimum using this scraper first. It is kind of pricey but well designed comfortable scraper that will last a long time.

I've used this scraper to peel off the old putty from the slates of the pool table I got. It worked brilliantly and almost effortlessly, leaving the slates perfectly clean. Totally worth the money. I've very happy with this tool. Highly recommended
