What's All The Fuss About?
I did a thorough research on all available electronic dartboards on the market, looking for the perfect one to buy for my son's 14th birthday. I ended up choosing this one because I loved the fact that it lights up (you can play even in a dimly lit room if you wish), that the score display also is brightly lit, that it has holders for the darts, a compartment to hold dart tips, and that it can be battery-powered if you wish (we hung it on my son's bedroom door). So far we've had it for a week (which isn't very long and I will update this review if things change), but we all love it! I was of course doubtful about it, due to some negative reviews (but every single dartboard had some negative reviews); however, this dartboard has exceeded my expectations. Even the darts it came with have been working great for us. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the darts being crappy. Ours are surprisingly durable and there isn't too huge of a bounceout rate either. My son loves it and plays on it even if he has just two spare minutes, and Dad loves it too.

Excellent value draft board
I have had this for a few weeks now, and it is really enjoyable. So can't speak to longevity, but so far so good. I don't notice any significant difference from a game-play perspective between this and an electronic dart board you might play on in a pub (I'm sure that more serious dart players probably could). After reading the instructions, it is easy to play and cycle between games / options. I set it up myself in probably an hour total. There is probably a better set up process but this is what worked for me. I used part of the cardboard box as a template. I punched holes in that cardboard where the 4 screw holes were on the board, and then drew diagonal lines in between them to find the center (i.e., where the bullseye would be). Then I used a stud finder to find the studs in the wall and lined up the two screw holes on the right hand side with the stud, and made sure the the bullseye hole was the appropriate distance from the floor. I then makred all four holes and the bulls eye hole with a pen through the template. I then drilled pilot holes for all 4 screw holes and set the two included drywall anchors for the two screw holes that don't line up with stud. After that was done, I then just fastened the dart board by using the included screws and it has remained very sturdy.

Easy to use, loud enough to hear, bright enough to see, and works well with all our darts/tips
I've owned several soft point dart boards that I would not rate 5 stars. With the bad ones darts bounced off, were hard to pull out, or registered incorrect segments.None of these have been problems with this board.Darts with bad tips bounce out occasionally but nothing has ever required pliers to be removed. I've played almost every day since purchasing and I can think of only 1 time where it registered a hit on the wrong segment and only because I was surprised it did so.Mounting was not difficult and it comes with all of the screws (but not wall anchors) necessary to do so. The board is loud enough to hear and the lights are bright enough to see even when the house lights are on. We mounted ours near an outlet so it is plugged in instead of using batteries.Speaking of the lights; they are a lot of fun. Not only do they indicate what you should shoot for (301, Cricket,...) they are used for several games only playable with the lights. One of my favorites is Helicopter with 4 lit up segments that revolve around the board. Your goal is to shoot them out. Fun and challenging for everyone, especially those who are good at the game.Game wise there are handicap modes for most games and several games have variations that can be enabled depending on skill level.Suffice it to say, I'm happy with my purchase.

Great board, sticky as hell
Great dart board "with teeth". The light-up board is such a great feature, showing you where to aim and what's been closed out, but this "Arachnid" catch material is nuts. It basically won't let go of your darts! There was another reviewer here who recommended the Target Pixel tips for this board and I can't agree more. The Viper tips will break off in a second, forcing you to disassemble the board and punch the broken tips through. Pain in the butt. You want short, hard tips for this board. The Target tips I bought came with a promo pack of Cosmo Fit Point Plus short tips that are amazing... But not out yet. I think.** Update (7/12/21 - 7 games later)My gut feel is, either this board is going to break or it's going to get pulled from the wall mounts due to how hard it is to remove darts from the surface. I've had a total of 6 tips break off in the board at this point, and have taken it apart twice to push them through and reassemble. While it's not too difficult to take apart, be sure to match the "notches" at the top of the various sheets to the top of the board so that you don't get any dead zones after reassembly. I've tried a number of dart tips and can safely say that Viper's own "Tufflex" brand are the most prone to decapitation. The Target Pixel tips are solid, but my friend managed to break three tips using them yesterday over a couple games of Cricket. I just got a couple packs of Cosmo tips in the mail so will try those next. There is an art to pulling these tips out - do NOT follow the instructions that suggest twisting the darts as this will sever the tips more quickly. You want to put an open hand over the board to hold it against the wall, and grab the base of the dart tip (where it gets wider toward the shaft) and pull firmly directly out of the board. This seems to minimize the decapitation rate based on my experience. However, there are some bigger issues that have come up which are somewhat related to the "stickiness" of the board. Once the board registers three hits, it prompts you to remove the darts. You have a fixed amount of time to wrestle with the darts before it rolls over to the next player. If you're not quick enough, you can easily register a hit for the next player while trying to remove your last dart and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to correct invalid hits. You basically have to reset the entire game because the board won't release the darts. Super frustrating. There also doesn't seem to be an option to change from an automatic player roll-over to a manual mode, which would be real handy given the stickiness issues. On the upside, the spots we've regularly hit do seem to be getting more flexible and loose over time so maybe there's just a tough period of burn-in before things go more smoothly.

Great board with a variety of games, Needs info on how to remove tips
Overall impressed so far with the board! My main gripe is that there is no instructions on how to remove dart tips from the board. I wouldn't suggest the typical route of pushing the tips through since the sensor pad on the back would most certainly get damaged. To clear tips:- Put the the board face down- Remove the 10 small screws from the back of the circular portion of the board (what warranty?!)- Lift the rear portion of the board, there is a shiny plastic layer connected to the bottom, try not to let it flop- You now have access to the individual sections, push out the tips- When reassembling make sure you have the notch in the front piece aligned with the 20 on the back part as well as the rubber and paper sheet with holes- Replace the back part, there are holes for the posts on the white piece that should settle into place- Gently retighten the back screws, do not overtightenSo... Not easy, but I gather this is about the same process required on a granboard. Was told by the manufacturer to just push them through... not sure that would have worked out.
