I had an absolute blast reading this debut novel. The author has put huge amounts of effort into carving out this twisted world. His passion and enthusiasm drip from every page, and there is so much packed into this book, that I lost track of all the horror movie references. Fast-paced from the get-go, Abby Vs... continues to travel up through the gears as the story unfolds.If you are a fan of Video Nasties, Exploitation, Monster Movies, GrindHouse, Extreme Cinema, and Cult Horror, you will have such a fun experience with this book which has been written as a love letter to all of these genres.The author has left it all on the table for this one, so if this seems right up your street, buckle in and enjoy the ride!

For a debut novel this is a hell of a good time. The story kicks off straight away and doesn’t take its foot off the gas. Which is a positive and negative in some cases here. The fast paced really gives it that intensity of the films this book is loving inspired by. It also has to sacrifice a lot of character building to keep up. Early chapters in the “other world” in particular can feel overly rushed. Overall an enjoyable and fun read. If you like classic slashers or grind house movies, then you’ll also have a great time and smile at all the little references

Man, I certainly had a blast with HILLBILLY FARM, which is Book One in the Abby Vs. The Splatploitation Brothers series. Now I'm eager to read the second book, SAVAGE CITY. If you like extreme horror, you can't go wrong with anything by Cooper. Highly recommended!
