30W R7S Dimmable J118 LED Bulb 230V 118mm Warm White 100-150W Halogen Bulb Double Ended J Type Replacement

I used it for the main uplighter of a mother and child lamp. Hard to say if it is as bright as the expired, 230W halogen bulb it replaced, but it is bright enough for my needs. It also dims well with the existing dimmer control on the lamp, (which is probably a conventional leading-edge (triac) dimmer). However, it does not dim to the same extent as a halogen bulb. It also gives a reasonably warm light, though not as warm as a halogen bulb. Curiously, some of the photos on Amazon show bulbs with different quantities and arrangements of the LEDs. The bulb I received has 64 LEDs (2 banks of 16 and one bank of 32). Because there are no LEDs on the underside of the bulb, I do not get the aesthetically pleasing glow from beneath the uplighter that I used to get with the halogen bulb.

I bought one of these to see how well it would replace the 300W halogen bulb in a free-standing up-lighter lamp stand. It works very well, producing lots of light with a pleasant hue. It dims quite well with a conventional triac dimmer unit, being very smooth at the higher end but there are noticeable steps in light level at the lower end. Maybe I should use a more modern 'trailing edge' dimmer unit.I liked it enough to buy another one - I have two free-standing up-lighters.

I bought it based on others' reviews. Unfortunately, I can not agree with them.It is not very bright, and I have found one of the reasons - using a power meter, I find it draws 0.1A of current consistently, making it a merely 23W bulb. Not only is it advertised as a 30W bulb, this is also what is stamped on the thing. You can buy two 25W LED r7s 118m bulbs on Amazon for significantly less. I have a torch that is brighter, which indicates that it is also inefficient...Not happy.

Total I think of 64 LEDs. The light quality is awesome very comparable to the halogen it replaced. I had to modify my uplifter slightly to squeeze it in but very happy with the result. The dimming works really well too. No flickering and goes smoothly full range.

Very good replacement works well with the Leading Edge Dimmer in my uplighter and the Light colour it produces is quite warm as well.

Good light and runs so cool compared with the previous inefficient halogen lamp.
