Get it working on Linux !
This is for Linux users that purchased this item, and found that nothing happens when the cable is connected. I hope that it helps you! When this cable is connected to a widescreen Tv, and to a Linux Computer, there is NO output, so what you need to do is to go into the Computer Bios settings, go along to "advanced", and enable any output that is listed that is "disabled", that will give to a picture on your tV as well as your monitor. Next go into "system settings", and then "displays" on your Linux Computer, and you will see the monitor and TV showing, but importantly, you must tick in "mirror displays", this will then show whatever is playing on your Computer, a slideshow or film etc on both your monitor and your TV, if you wish you can then turn off your monitor, and watch the output just on your TV. Just use your TV remote to choose which HDMI the cable is connected to on your TV, and all will be working fine.

2 years later still like new.
Works great. GTX 770 only comes with 1 HDMI and 1 Display Port. Using this cable allowed me to dump DVI and the extra audio cable and use this instead to my monitor and use the HDMI to TV.For those who are having trouble and already mention by others make sure your running display port to hdmi. Also when you switch to this cable remember that most monitors require you to manually select the input. For my monitor its side button menu, system, input. Scroll through until HDMI.*Update* 2 years on still happily using this now on my GTX 1080. Unlike cheap cables the connections are still firm & strong with no sagging.Still recommend

Solid build quality and good performance
I'm trying to make my office/studio more ergonomically friendly and this meant moving my massive tower pc further away from my monitors. I have four monitors, three on a media production workstation and one on the 'admin' pc. These cables are solidly built and there doesn't seem to be any loss of quality on such a long run. I would certainly buy them again.

I cannot find a fault with this cable so far, 5*
The cable works well and does as advertised. I plug one end into the DP port on my GPU, the other to the HDMI input in my monitor. Works a charm. I have identical triple monitors, one running DVI, the other HDMI and one with this cable, and between this cable and the real HDMI cable, I cannot tell the difference in picture. The connectors are of high quality and the cable does not feel flimsy. Sound is transferred as well as monitor information to the computer, so for fellow gamers out there, Nvidia Surround does work with this cable.I cannot find a fault with this cable so far, 5*

Pleasantly surprised
Connected the displayport on a HP ProDesk 400 G2.5 to HDMI port on a BenQ GW2265HM 21.5" LED Monitor.Wasn't hopeful of results as previous experience of connecting PCs to TVs via HDMI had left me a firm believer that the three should not mix and the only good picture out of a PC came via DVI.Happy to say that, for office use at least, this cable gave a good image at the native resolution witn no border. The lock on the cable at the displayport end is, I believe, part of the displayport specification. Very good idea and much easier to connect and release than the old thumb screws on VGA and DVI connections. Will buy again if need arises.

Good sturdy cable
The cable works very well and carries full video as well as sound from my laptop to TV with no problem. It is a thick cable - fatter than audio coax - and quite stiff. I am guessing, but this may be due to the signal wires being covered in shielding. I read somewhere that HDMI cables are susceptible to interference and maybe that is what makes this cable so bulky compared with my HDMI to mini HDMI cable for my tablet.

Connects Lenovo T510 laptop to Samsung TV, good sound and picture.
Using to connect Lenovo T510 laptop to Samsung TV. HD picture quality is good and sound works fine. The cable seems to be good quality. To get the sound to work with Windows 10 I had to right click the speaker icon on the task bar, select ‘playback devices’ and enable the Samsung High Definition Device (this appears when you connect to the TV) and disable the Speakers device.

Well-made, flawless image
Very well-made cable. I purchased a 5m cable, knowing I'd need to feed it through cable runs/trays for use with a multi-monitor set-up. In practice, the quality of video transmitted has been crystal clear - zero artifacts or distortion. Very pleased with this purchase: it was maybe 1-2 GBP more expensive than I'd have liked, but that's made up by the fact that the cable uses quality components (so in a way, it's reassuringly expensive!). Highly recommended.
