Rubberwood is a hardwood from the maple family of woods. It has very little tendancy to warp or crack and is one of the most durable timbers used in furniture manufacture - it is much stronger than pine!! As a member of the maple family, rubberwood has a dense grain making it very strong. Like maple, rubberwood is a sap producing species, but instead of producing sap it produces latex. Rubberwood trees produce all the latex used for all rubber based products. Rubberwood is the most ecologically "friendly" timber, as it is grown specifically for latex production. After 25 to 30 years the latex production in an individual tree dries up and the trees are chopped down, making the furniture from what is esentially a "waste" material.

A good solid chair.
Excellent sturdy chair.Assembly quick and straight forward, applied wood glue to the dowel joints for extra rigidity.(Caution: do not over tighten the wood screws on the front and side rails to avoid splitting).This is a strong chair when assembled and is quite weighty.

Solid and good looking
I bought 2 of these chairs to use in our dining room when we have guests. Assembly was fast and easy, and we now have two very solid chairs that don't look or feel home assembled. The light wood colour also compliments our existing set nicely. Highly recommended and a great price too. Would buy more if needed.

Real Quality chair
I ordered this chair because I liked the style, but wasn;t expecting too much quality for the price. I was wrong. A really solid well designed piece of furniture. And the self assembly was not at all difficult. I'm very pleased

I bought a pair of these a few weeks ago and now I've bought another one - what more can I say. Very pleased. This one was missing a washer but they sent a replacement which arrived the next day.

These were great, easy to assemble strong sturdy great value. Even when one of the boxes had a wrong part and they came and collected box and exchanged it for 2 ready made chairs! Can't fault this product.
