Uberstix Ubercutter

This thing really does what it says it can do. Honestly can say it makes beautiful cuts. Though we have not exceeded a hundred so far, Popsicle-stick crafts are really improved. The only thing we dislike so far is that if you cut a small piece (say less than 1/4 of an inch), then it is tough to get the pieces out of device.They will come out, you just lift the small black plastic gate and shake a few times and out it comes. Would buy again, I am sure we will have to replace the cutting blade at some point. Not sure where to find one as I paid no attention to the packaging and most likely ignored any advertised reference. Highly recommended for cutting Popsicle sticks

Great cuts every time,. never splinters the stick. Just turn the knob until you hear the snap. Wish it could cut more than one stick at a time and wish I could cut jumbos vertically. Maybe there is such a product out there somewhere to add to my tools. 5-6 year old students were able to make nice craft stick bird feeders.

Pros:It really helps cutting standard size popsicle streets and tongue depressors at certain precise angles (there are guidelines). Compared to using a ruler and blade, that is.Cons:The feature to cut across a stick would not work. Each cut requires careful placement, then turning the knob underneath until the blade guillotines the stick, then turning the knob the other way to release the stick--not the fastest. It also makes a very sharp snapping sound when it cuts (enough to make my ears ring a few times). And, as another reviewer mentioned, the worst thing is how little bits of stick will just stay in the unit, jamming up the blade, and the only way to get them out is to shake shake shake. After cutting approx. 250 sticks, it has given up; the blade is now jammed permanently in the up position. Can't replace the blade, can't open the unit to unjam.

What a terrific product. I bought popsicle sticks and found that I could not cut them as I planned to I visited Youtube and like magic the video for these Uberstix Ubercutter was on there. I then turned to Amazon to see if I could find something comparable and here it was at a very reasonable price. I used the Ubecutter to make window and door frames for the wooden houses I was building. It works like a charm. Our mail woman and her husband makes railroad houses and when she saw what mine could do, she bought one as well.

It does what it says it does, and is actually safer than I expected. There is really no way little fingers can get cut using it, and my kids enjoy it.

Nice...easy to use but sticks get stuck inside.
