Great to teach kids about clefts
This is a great little book for family and friends of a cleft affected child. Age appropriate language to empower kids to answer questions too.

Love this book
Age appropriate explanation for 2-6 yo about what cleft lip and palate are and about lip surgery. I feel it helped my kiddo prepare for the new baby. I bought 4 copies one for my family and 2 to pass (pre-covid) to family and friends to help young kiddos and the 4th for another cleft mom I was lucky enough to meet.

Favorite Cleft Lip Book
I've bought a few cleft lip books for my boyfriend's daughter. I wanted his daughter to see a child that looked like her in books. This book is not super wordy and keeps attention. The graphics are sweet. The message is positive and honest. She now points and says "cleft lip, like me!" and looks at the pictures before bed. It's even been great for her big brother to read and relate to the experience of being a sibling of a child with cleft lip. He loves it as well.

Great baby Gift
Bought for a friends who s daughter was having a baby with the problem. Even though it is for a sibling (which I wasn't aware of), it is great on how to explain about what has happen to the baby and surgeries.

Publishing company messed up
While the book itself will prove to be helpful with my almost 5 year old son, the binding of the book was all messed up. There was basically a book inside the book and repeat pages. It’s twice the size and twice as many pages as it should be so clearly it was assembled incorrectly. The book begins normally and then there’s a blank page before the book begins again...and then at the end it continues where the first book left off. Apparently the editing or publishing company needs some quality control.

Very sweet
Bought this for my son. His new cousin will have cleft palate and I wanted to prepare him for what to expect. It opens doors for questions and understanding what he will look like and how they will care for him.

Nice informative book
lovely story to help children adjust to a sibling born with a cleft but i dont think its worth the cost. Very thin covers and paper and. An be easily torn. We had to tape on the first day. Id still buy this even though its american. When we read we just changed a few of the words such as mom and diaper etc.

Fantastic book for older siblings.
Great book for my just-turned-three year old, in anticipation of her baby brother’s arrival. He has an antenatal diagnosis of cleft lip and palate. Great illustrations, simple to read and easy to understand. So impressed.

Very helpful
I loved this book. It was so thorough. My 2 year old really understood what was happening to his brother. He was scared at first but after reading the book something clicked. If people came to visit he’d say “baby had a booboo” and run to get the book to help others understand!

Absolutely wonderful!
I am so pleased with this book. What a great book to help children understand cleft lip and palate. I bought it for our daughter so that she can understand one day how and what she was born with. I also bought a copy for my nieces and nephew to help them understand why their cousin has a special smile!
