Very basic
Pros: Creates very clean looking scores, and on the whole is generally easy to use.Cons: Purchased this as I'm a music student and unable to afford Sibelius. The trial seemed pretty decent, however, after using it for several pieces of coursework and compositions, I've learned it lacks some very basic tools For example, modern piano pedal lines are unavailable, so you have to use the old style (Ped - *) symbols. Also, despite being able to create a pick-up measure at the start of a piece, the software doesn't allow you to create these mid piece. These are just two examples off the top of my head, and I have experienced many more setbacks. In 100% honesty, if you're needing some basic music notation software, you can get some pretty decent free ones (such as MuseScore) which give you pretty much the same features as these basic versions of notations software (Finale PrintMusic).

Good product - as described and good value.
This is a very good product in many respects. It does the job. The application of notation and the set up of the score is relatively straightforward, albeit painstaking. The finished product looks very professional and that is important. There are certain limitations, since this is not the most recent edition of the software. We are still sifting through the features, many of which are not that obvious. There is bound to be an answer to most of the needs, but it is taking a while to find them.If the need of the purchaser is a fairly basic one, then this is excellent value for money.

I prefer Finale Print Music to Sibelius First !
I completely agree with the reviewer who recommends trying all the demo versions first. I tried the demos of; Sibelius First, Finale Print Music, Finale Songwriter and Presonus Notion. In the end it came down to a choice between Finale Print Music and Sibelius First. I chose this one because the note entry and general work-flow suited me better. The clincher for me was the fact the this was far better at accurately notating real time input from a MIDI keyboard across two staves. I found the tabbed MS Office 2013 style of Sibelius to be a total pain and a real work-flow killer.I think that this software offers excellent value for money. It is a good quality entry level notation package with a lot of usable features. I can even play back my compositions through VST instruments within Print Music and scan in paper hard copies. However, these observations are purely my preference. Try all the demo versions first to see which package suits your personal work-flow.
