My go-to boot.
I have bought boots based on looks and brand in the past but there is no substitute for a well made boot that does what you want where you walk. More comfortable than Jack Wolfskin more waterproof than any suede top or Karrimor boot Iβve had, and a better grip on slimy rock than a hard plastic sole with designer tread pattern. These have been my go to boot for a long time now and will buy again. I noted that some have had delaminating issues with the sole. I havenβt. Many boots will do this if soaking wet for long period or if the water is very salty eg sea water or gritted snow. I like to add a layer of dubbin and fill the seams and creases to keep water out. Seems to work.

Great product and very good value for money.
This is my second pair of these walking boots, have walked/gardened/dog walked in these for over 4 years. They are simply the best walking boots I've ever owned.

Not bad for the price, but read on....
I bought these because I couldn't get my usual brand, Johnscliffe, in the size(10) that I normally buy. My local outdoor shop closed due to Internet competition(!) These boots were slightly cheaper than my usual, and lighter in weight, plus there were a couple of freebies in the shape of a cloth storage bag and some spare laces. The reason for the lightness is the lack of padding compared to the Johnscliffe product, which means I have to wear a thicker sock to get a better fit. Also the laces are quite long and I have to wrap them round my ankles so I don't keep tripping on them. How are they in the field? Well I don't walk huge distances (2-3 miles max.), but I do go out nearly every day and walk mostly near the sea(on shingle), and muddy tracks. I've had the boots a few months, and they've not given me any real problems so far. If they last as well as my usual boot then I'll be happy.

Great boot for a great price
Bought for my son who gave them a thorough test in the Lake District. He is usually a 10.5 size but found the size 11 to be ideal for him. They were comfortable and ideal across the various terrains found in the Lake District. Through both wet ground, rivers and snow found on the peaks he said they had a high degree of waterproofing. His view was that they were a great boot for a great price.

Excellent boots for the price
These were my fourth pair of these boots. For the price they are excellent. As I do a great deal of walking getting through a pair every 18 months these fit the bill. They are comfortable and waterproof in wet weather.

Probably of the best boots I have ever owned
These boots at any price would be absolutely brilliant. At the price they are offered they are a complete steal. They are light, comfortable, waterproof, they fit perfectly and they last. They take almost no wearing-in at all. This is the second pair I have had, the first pair are now employed solely as my allotment work boots, they have helped me dig about 800 square metres of ground over time and they are impervious to anything a city allotment gardened by previous idiot vandals who left glass, metal and all manner of other pollutants in the ground. Though obviously not safety boots they feel very protective of my feet in some quite challenging situations on the allotment plot as a whole. I would guess from previous reviews that as a pair of dog walking boots these would be hard to beat. In fairness, I have not done any mountain walking in them but they get punished for hours on end three or four days a week and apart from the leather being badly scuffed now as you might expect they are virtually as good as the day I bought them. I would recommend these things without any reservation if you are looking for a good pair of durable reliable boots for rugged use.
