It works
What I like most about this development board is that all the pins are clearly labeled so its easy to tell which pins correspond to which variable. The data sheet is relatively simple. Don't get me wrong, this is not arduino level easy. haha, you will likely run into issues trying to get things working but with some time and some skill, you can get this microcontroller to do what you want. You can program it with the pickit3. I am using the one from digilent. Pretty sure Real Ice works too but why get that one when you can use pickit? Biggest downside is that this microcontroller has limited functionality. Thats okay if you don't want to do something super complex. For example, I'm just using it to drive a remote control. I wouldn't recommend this for anything that requires high speed or large data requirements.

Does what it says on the label
Works just fine as a quick test board for working out ideas.
