Solo

Saw this group on Top of the Pops a few years ago singing Heaven and they reminded me of my favourite group - The Temptations....so off I went to the West End to buy the album - difficult to find as on Import at the time.I bought it and played it incessantly until it was full of scratches.A few weeks ago I decided to try and find it ...and I did only on Amazon!!The CD arrived very quickly. Service was brilliant and Ive been playing it since....A superb album.

i stumbled across this CD & what a fantastic one it is! Still as good today as when it was released! What ever happened to these boys/men, dud they make another CD? Can't get enough of it plus the he Jam & Lewis production, fantastic, get it!

かなり以前に知人からＭＤにしてもらった物なのですが、どうしても歌っている人たちの顔が見たくて検索していたら、アマゾンに行き当たりました。アマゾンさんありがとう！

After their blazing sucess with New Editon's Heartbreak and Mint Condition's Meant To Be Mint album, Jam & Lewis intrdocued us two more hot blazing R&B groups, 4.0. and Solo although neither group had much shelf life both groups should have crossed over more. Savvy producers that they are, Jam and Lewis have managed to preserve the group's sound on this self-titled debut CD, a fine collection of street-corner soul, and lush, vocal-driven rhythm and blues. Solo know where they come from; if not for the slightly hip-hoppish feel, "Heaven" could be a mid-'60s Temptations single. This is still new-age soul in the Intro, Shai and, of course, Boyz II Men vein, but compared to those groups Solo's sound is almost nostalgic. In fact, they aren't afraid to cop a lick or two straight from the source--"Xxtra," a slow, serpentine love-groove, begins with a sampled slice straight off the great Dramatics hit, "In The Rain." And hey lovers, take notice: the slow grooves are aplenty here.

Bad @ss album! Had the original from the year it came out but bought another after it was lost. Never gets old. Every song is amazing & most will have you dancing (or at least trying to) until your sweating. A+++++

Singing groups have nearly disappeared, but Solo's perfect blend of voices keeps the harmonies strong and mellow. If you like R&B with great rhythm, this is it. Run don't walk to get it!

I love these guys that back in the day harmonizing and deep baritone vocals. Their voices just melts my panties right off. LOL

I love listening to this group. The words from the cd are clear. I grew up listening to this group. I am very grateful that I was able to get the cd.

Great, great R& B group. They are timeless rhythm/blues singers. They have the flavor of Sam Cooke, the passion of O'Jays, the smoothness of the Originals. I don't know how I missed them. I only remember the one song,"Hold On" but did not know or care who the group was singing. A friend recorded and gave to me their song, "It's Such A Shame", and I fell in love. I had to go onto the internet to find out who the group was singing. Once I did, bought the cd. This is good music -- ladies and gentleman, this is Solo.

Disliked that I paid for used/worn merchandise

I hardily agree with face02. This is a piece of music that folks missed the boat on. Solo is a group that really put out a great sound in their renditions of some real ole school music. This is the R&B I grew up with.This CD took me back to my youth and it felt good!!!! It would be so fine if the record company could do a re-release of this CD so that this group could have it's due.

I have been searching for this cd for awhile. I had itwhen it came out in the early 90' and like many others this one disapperred. It's not on MP3 so I had to order to actual cd. Either way it was worth the wait.

Good CD love the harmony

I purchased this CD for a friend, but I have had this CD since 1995. I still listen to it till this very day...my FAVORITE track..NUMBER 15!!!! This kind of music just doesn't exists anymore!! SOLO is one of the most under-rated groups! I wish that they would come back and do another wonderful R&B CD!!
