Valve is perfect, but the description needs updating.
The valve is a nice quality stainless valve with NPS (National Pipe Straight) threads and quality silicone sealing rings as shown in the pictures. The straight thread is used for bulkhead applications as the description says the valve is intended for (though the description also states NPT - National Pipe Taper - threads are on the valve)

Perfect for making a mash tun
This valve is great for brewing. I am using this with a 10 gallon water cooler which will be my mash tun. It's weldless so it works perfectly with the water cooler, and if I decide to upgrade in the future I can take it off and use it on other equipment. I would recommend buying a bazooka tube filter to make sure nothing gets stuck inside the valve.The handle has a simple locking mechanism to make sure the valve doesn't accidentally get opened or closed. The ball valve design lets you precisely control the flow.The 1/2" npt also fits my brewers best brew kettle perfectly if I decided to use it with that.The out spout can be unscrewed and you can remove the barb to hook up a hose if you wanted.This valve feels very durable and I think it will be perfect for my needs. Overall, i am very happy with this valve and I will order more if needed. Cheers!

Great ball valve for your home brew project
Was trying to modify my homebrew kettle and came across this. Just what I needed. Once the kettle was drilled this bulkhead was very easy to install. It is very nice quality and has held up to multiple brews. At this price point I cannot complain

This thing can lock open/closed position!
I've never seen a faucet like this that can lock in both the open and closed position. Very, very neat!This seems to be a decent faucet -- well crafted and works under low back-pressure (haven't tested high). But the coolest thing (to me) is the fact the designers found a simple way to make this a locking faucet that can lock in either full-open or closed positions.

Excellent stuff for brewers
Not just for brewers I suppose, but for people without welded couplings this is a great way to add a valve. It comes in a nice kit with plugs on every thread and port for protection. The weldless bulkhead nut is grooved for the silicone O-ring which is a great design improvement to a regular nut. Highly recommended solution for a kettle valve.

Nice enough for the price
I'm amazed at certain ball valves and fittings like these that can be had for a reasonable price of $16, especially in stainless steel. I cannot see an obvious quality difference between this and more expensive ones. The ball valve works well and feels tight and smooth.
