I have bought quite a few varieties of nutritional yeast, and this is by far the most flaky, the most flavorful, and a wonderful price. Everything organic and quality has pretty much doubled in price on Amazon over the past few years, but this is still the best I have found. I’m not AI, nor a paid reviewer, but I’m a real homo sapien.

I have been using DEAL products for years and was delighted that they came out with Nutritional Yeast. I use Nutritional Yeast in many of the dishes that I eat and it is hard to find a company that you can trust to deliver consistent high quality and I have found that with DEAL. It has a very fresh, cheesy, and slightly nutty flavor to it. It blends easily with everything that I use it in and makes everything yummy. And, don’t forget all the nutritional value you get from it. I’m very happy with Deal’s Nutritional Yeast and I highly recommend it.

I use this as a cheese substitute on any Italian or Mexican recipe. If heating in a microwave, to keep it from sticking together and getting crunchy, add the flakes last, after the food is mostly hot, cover, then heat for another minute or two. I tried eating a spoonful straight and found that it does not taste like cheese that way, but once it is combined with other food, it really does work as a cheese substitute...without all of the fatty calories.

This is a great product to make vegan cheese sauce with or to put on our popcorn. Many at our Seventh-Day Adventist Church follow the “Creation ” plant-based diet and love this product. It is incredibly expensive at health food stores, so I appreciate that this is priced reasonably. Thank you!

Bob's Red Mill and Bragg's taste better. I eat a lot of Nooch and I thought they all tasted the same. This was less flavorful but seemed fine.

Organic nutritional yeast with a great flavor. I put it in my oatmeal to boost B-12, protein and anti-oxidants in my vegan diet. I also make a delicious mushroom gravy using nutritional yeast.

Maybe it's a bad batch, or the people who gave positive reviews have never had good, normal tasting nutritional yeast.My family is vegetarian and has used nutritional yeast for over 32 years, several different brands from health food stores and here on Amazon. We enjoy the flavor in many different recipes or simply sprinkled on foods. We tried this brand because it's about half the price of others. Big mistake!This brand (or this batch?) doesn't taste or smell at all like nutritional yeast, though the color and texture are normal. The only reason we tasted it (after noticing the offensive odor) was to see if we could somehow disguise the flavor to use as a vitamin supplement. Nope! It leaves a strong, lasting, bitter, metallic aftertaste.It's frustrating that people new to nutritional yeast might try this one first and be turned off from it for life. Our favorite brands are Red Star, Hoosier Hills Farm, and Anthony's. Though we've never rejected the flavor of any brand we've tried until this one.I am pleased that I was easily able to receive a refund.
