Poor quality of craftsmanship and materials.
Knife is extremely poor quality. It was pitted out of the box. The blades were extremely stiff. Three of the three blades were dull and the engraving for bear & sons almost appeared to be rubbed off. Craftsmanship was extremely poor. It’s almost like amazon got the knives that were rejected for quality issues by bear & sons and decided to sell them. I would not recommend. Go to the store, spend a couple extra dollars and view what you’re purchasing.

Decent US made stockman, but quality issues hurt appearance
For the price, this is an okay large stockman pocket knife that is made in the US. The rosewood scales are polished smooth and gorgeous, though one of them had a small pair of dents that are not so gorgeous. The blades are 440 steel (probably 440a, since they would list it if they were 440c). One of the blades was a little hard to open at first, but that improved with oil. The sheepsfoot blade had a section with fine, parallel scratches, like from a wire brush wheel or something. All in all I like it and will use it for a working knife due to the dents and the scratches on the sheepsfoot blade, but I took off a star due to the poor quality control.
