Ok, my husband has started drinking Old Fashioneds bc it's now a trend so he was thrilled to get this item! He was apprehensive at first but the enclosed directions were easy to follow and the variety of scents/chips was something he had fun with. He said the flavor was really nice, too (sorry, I don't drink ). I think this makes a great gift for anyone and think it would make an amazing gift for groomsmen!! Husband plans to buy some for his good friends to give as gifts, so I think it was a hit!

This is my review on the Cocktail Smoker Kit with Torch.This is a nice cocktail smoker with an included torch.It however does not come with butane.It comes with 8 tins of different types of wood shavings.The flavor is fantastic.This is a great gift for your significant other.Thanks for reading my review.

I recently decided to explore smoked beverages after having a tremendous experience trying smoked ales for the first time. (Pro Tip: smoked ales are incredible) So i ordered three different sets of beverage smokers to adequately sample what's out there and find out what works.This set was, by far, the most featured. The kit was nicely presented with 8 different and smartly packed containers of wood chips including: pear, peach, pecan, oak, beech, cherry, apple, and sokura. It also includes granite cubes for the freezer to chill down and use like ice without diluting your drink. There are tongs for the cubes, and a spoon for the wood chips. There's even a brush to clean up after use. And, of course, there is the lighter, a rather high-output beast. NB that all such lightes will be shipped WITHOUT butane, so you'll need to pick some up at your local hardware or grocery store.Performance: as much as I like this kit aesthetically, it gets the lowest score in operation. This is because the flame is the most feeble, and the design of the lid does not flow a lot of smoke compared to the other two, more expensive, kits i tried. The number one factor for good smoke seems to be a really good torch. the kit with the best torch probably threw down 10 times as much smoke - to the point you could definitely taste it. With the 10 dollars you save on this kit compared to the best kit, you could achieve the very best kit by acquiring a better torch.The granite cubes were a nice touch, but they don't have nearly the heat capacity to work well. Beverage warmed up far too early for my preferences.

Wow so this torch does not come with butane on the box explains to you how to fill it up and how to open and close the bottom of the torch. I have experience with torches so that was nothing new to me but I did read it before I did it. Ok well I tried several times to fill it up and nothing about the fourth time I tried I flicked the lighter and I caught on fire. It went out quickly but it startled me in the meantime it burnt my little hairs on my hands. No actual burn damage but that's not the point needless to say this torch is garbage it will not work It don't even really feel like a real torch it feels like plastic when you hold it. The rest of the kit I'm sure it's fine I'm not messing with it not after that definitely only give this kit one star.

The instructions are on the back of the box and very vague. You do need to buy butane to use the torch that is included. Through trial and error, here is how I found this works. You take the filter and put it in the wooden base. Put the wooden base on top of your glass. Fill the with wood chips then keep the fire going to have the glass fill with smoke. Once you are satisfied, let it go out and put the wood top on. I left mine on for a couple of minutes but the drink only faintly tasted like it was smoked. I think I need to leave it on for longer. Be warned, this does create smoke and does have fire. I recommend of you use it outside and away from your house. I honestly wasn't impressed. The smoke is slow to come down, the fire has to be going for too long in my opinion, and then you have to wait too long for your drink to have the taste.Edited to add: We have found the longer you leave the smoke in the glass, the bigger the flavor. I would still use with caution.

Very disappointed in this product. The wood is difficult to light and stay lite and did not produce any smoke from the smoke holes in the smoker. I attempted to produce smoke for roughly 30 minutes with no results.In addition this smoker does not come with butane for the lighter so you will have to purchase a butane refill before you use the lighter.
