I could not find a way to change the resolution on this camera. The phone app initially said 720p, then changed on loading to 480p. No fear of getting anywhere near 1080p. The resolution was horrible and the feed poor, even right next to my new router. Dropouts, disconnecting, reconnecting and generally tedious and annoying. (Yes I was using 2.4GHz spectrum.)Also, you can't simply use a browser alone, you need to install plugins which if you want to check out the cam from your work PC which is locked down with AD policy, you won't be able to. So for me, the trusty Foscams get a stay of execution. As such, this product earns 1 star.Fortunately, great returns policy means I received, tested and then subsequently returned the item the same day. I've tried a number of cameras over the last few weeks and all have gone back with issues of one sort or another, but this one was quite possibly the worst. At least the others were high definition image cams. This was clearly not. Gained a star back for the return policy.

This camera is actually quite good. The picture quality is good etc and it's pretty easy to link to your phone. I'm still having trouble with the settings. I bought an sd card and the memory constantly overwrites which is fine. I set the notifications so that it tells me when someone's outside the house. That's where I think it could be better. I've set it so that it takes pictures /records when the alarm is triggered, but when it notifies you, it just says "alarm triggered at (time) " so then you have to open the app, go into saved footage and then try to find it. The footage isn't lavelled by time or date so it's not that easy to find. I also find the alarm sensitivity to be a bit tricky. If you have it on the high setting, it informs you of absolutely everything that's moving in front of your house, including roads and footpath, but if you set it to medium, it doesn't notify you, even if the person is just a few meters away. In my pic you can see my camera is in the window and the porch is very close. Medium sensitivity doesn't pick up people coming to the porch. It's still good for the money but to be honest, it's mostly a visual deterrent.

If it can't connect to a network, then it's obviously worthless. Router is a year old - recent kit - and many devices (including security cams) already connected via wireless without a problem . The setup is impeded immediately by:1) a useless, virtually illegible manual on a piece of A4 that looks like it was put together by a 5 year old.2) A useless (apparently) android app which could've have been written by a 10 year old.On its way back to Amazon as non-functional. An hour+ of my time wasted, and that's more than enough.

I suspect many of the people who are unhappy are mainy just confused about how it works.. and didn't read the manual or look for help online. These cameras will only connect to 2.4Ghz networks, but most new routers default to 5Ghz, so you need to setup a new SSID running on 2.4Ghz.. If you are not comfortable doing that, then fine, but don't blame the product!

1) above the 50% of video recordings are incompletely uploaded on the remote server via FTP protocol, so some video/photo files are corrupted and completely useless!2) motion detection is very low quality - big gaps between motion detection recordings, misses a lot of motion detection should be3) unable to save motion detection if you're watching the stream via mobile app at the same time4) I use only motion detection functionality, but even though the device temperature is permanently high5) BWT - if your wifi name is longer or the wifi SSID name contains space symbols, unable to connect it to the network at all !!! -so my advice is to use short WiFi namesPLUSES:1) have a great view angle!it's kind of high quality toy

Great camera and reasonable price. I haven't got any problems with connection, jusy read instruction and downloaded app. I am very pleased with its both video and sounds quality. I am on holiday at the moment but I can keep an eye what is happening in my house. Possible to be used as a baby monitor as well. Highly recommend!

Not happy with this product. Got the camera and went to get the app for it the vk-home, and it's not even available in the uk. I'm fuming at the moment! Contacted customer service and their best option was for me to contact th manufacturer directly. This information should be on the website, that you can only have the app if you're in certain countries.If there's a way to get the app in the UK, the amazon customer service did not tell me.

Good little camera but doesn't support ONVIF which is essential if you want to add it to an existing DVR. The app to configure it is a bit shoddy and I blocked it from reaching the internet (can't trust Chinese electronics these days!).
