This is an excellent book for any youngster. This book has 10 colorful chapters filled with vivid images, charts, breakdowns, and timelines complimenting the facts listed on each page. The chapters are: Home, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Oceania, Antarctica, the Oceans, and Space. This covers things from where does trash go all the way to where is Curiosity (the Mars rover). From the facts I read, the information is accurate, but limited. This is no history textbook, and is clearly designed for children, but not for schools. Daddy! Where does... come from? Where does the white go when the snow melts? It gets the reading like they have never read before. My children love to learn new things but reading is not high on their bucket list. I've tried to motivate them by reading to them and letting them read to me. My children are so shocked that Daddy doesn't know everything. It won't answer all of their questions but it's a very good start.

We gave it as a gift to a very curious 10 year old boy and he loved it!! Lots of illustrations, great and simple explanations, tons of facts!

My grandson is seven and loves this series of books. The articles are short and can be read easily at bedtime. He has learned a lot of interesting facts from the series. It was a winner in terms of gifts to him.

bought the Where, How, Why and What books for a grandson and they are really nice books..... high quality printing, good kid content, lot's of educational information, packed with interesting stuff to keep a kid's attention including a gazillion pictures with captions.... couldn't be more pleased for the price and quality

A excellent book for the young and young at heart! Kids never get bored. Keeps them occupied with something educational and away from video games, TV and the Internet for a little while.

I bought all of the "Big Books" for my grandkids. They love them all, and re-read them constantly. Now the littler kids are learning to read and they have these to answer so many of their questions.

Its a perfect book for jumping around and letting your child impulsively look at the pages. Also great for training in how to read. The photos and layout keep my child engaged!
