Excellent tape measure with good sturdy lock button to stop tape running back into body. The build is good with durable tough plastic bodywork. Handy carry strap, decent tape lip that enables easy hookover on edges for accurate results, and a stainless steel belt lip. Readings are shown in both inches and millimetres, and extends to a full 5 metres in length. Good inbuilt spring for fast tape return and a good tape width with clear increments. Very good value for such a small price. An excellent purchase.

1 star only because I had to select a star to let me submit. Possibly the worst tape measure I have ever used. The thing basically fell apart in the first use, measuring a finished interior wall. The speed of the tape rewinding caused the button to hold the tape out to fall out and the plastic stopper that stops the tape going too far in fell out with the force. My advice safe your money and get a stanley or doughneck or any decent brand rather than silverline. Most of their tools I have bought cheap have had to be replaced with a propper brand. Buy cheap buy twice.

Exactly what I needed. Does what it's required for. And it's a lot cheaper than other name brands. Not a bad quality. Don't know how this would reflect on someone who needs to use it on a daily basis, but for me as I might need to use it barely, just to have at home I'm really pleased with the buy.

I go through tape measures at a phenomenal rate. I've had this one for over a month so I'm impressed especially with the price, just wish they did a 10m one.

After getting fed up with Stanley tapes at £10+ and the paint coming off the measure, or recoil spring snaps etc. I thought I'd try a cheap tape. So far it has outlived the expensive tapes.Well done silverline.

It’s okay for the jobs around the house and garden feels heavy and okay quality. I probably wouldn’t recommend on a building site or dropping it from heights but for minimal usage it’s perfect

Perfect especially for the money. Lock works brilliantly and there is a clip for your belt. Arrived quickly, very pleased.
