High quality in-line volume adjustment
I recently discovered high quality audio again by going back to a wired interface. I purchased this to use with an ASUS Clavis DAC. While PC gaming I switch between a pair of in-ear monitors (KZ ZS10 Pro) for immersive single player games and an over-ear headset with a mic (Corsair Virtuoso PRO).I found that with the Clavis I can easily turn the volume up in windows and blow my ears out - so I wanted hardware-controlled volume for safety and ease of use.So far I can’t really detect any loss of sound quality by using it (unlike other knobs i’ve tried) and it supports TRRS to allow the mic to passthrough. The housing seems to be metal and has a nice feel/weight. The cable is long and is wrapped in some cheap-ish braided fabric but it’s fine. The volume wheel is firm, smooth, knobby and precise. The turn radius/range of the wheel seems short and requires gentle movements to get the volume correct; again its a solid wheel but its still easy to increase the volume too much.I was able to coil this around the Clavis as seen in the picture to remain a single DAC dongle with volume adjustment.Great product for my uses and I would recommend.

Does what it says so
I couldn't find an item on Amazon that supports 4 pole input/output along with volume control. The volume control is only for volume, not microphone input which is what's expected.

Different audio levels in right and left earphone :(
This product was good at first, there was no sacrifice in audio quality and the slider was smooth and tactile. Unfortunately, when using it the right and left earphones/buds have different audio levels. Although it is very slight, it is still noticeable. It is most obvious when the volume is low enough where it is just above being muted, because you literally can't hear one side for it is slightly quieter than the other (often the left side, sometimes right).I tried this product with multiple sources and 2 different pairs of earphones and earbuds, it still didnt work properly. I tried to remedy it by changing the audio balance, which helps a tiny bit, but for some reason there is a threshold when it is on the quieter side where the problem persists. I also tried turning on mono audio, no dice. Of course, when I use the earphones and earbuds regularly the problem vanishes. If you don't mind a very slight audio difference in your right and left ears for some reason, by all means buy this product, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

Somewhat disappointed.
The ONLY problem is the quality of the wire (cord). It kinks and develops permanent bends and twists! I expected it to fail because of this and it DID after about two months! NOT recommended,

Inconsistent volume level between left and right channels.
The other review stating that volume levels differs between left and right sides is correct. It is distinctly noticeable and highly annoying. One side will drop in and out as you use the wheel to adjust the volume. You can find a point where both sides are equal, but you have to hope that this point is at an acceptable volume and if you bump the wheel accidentally it will mess up the equilibrium. Additionally, it seems to me like the audio quality is negatively affected. It may not be noticeable with a low-quality audio device, but it made my headphones sound a bit tinny and hollow. I’m going to try another product since these problems really are unacceptable.
