Cube Trilogy - Cube / Cube 2 / Cube Zero [DVD]

The cube franchise covers three separate movies, all running on a central theme of people awakening inside a maze that works like a giant Rubik’ Cube. The films were made between 1997 and 2004.Cube -7 people find themselves in a square room with exits on all surfaces, each leading to another cube room. The concept is simple, find a way out of the cube before they get killed in rooms that have innovative booby traps. The main strength is the interaction between the characters as they try to find out why they are there and learn about one another, heightened by the inevitable death as someone succumbs to the latest trap. ****Cube 2:hypercube -More professional title sequence, swearing from the start, the cube itself looks more clinical and sterile where people come and go. Individuals are more paranoid from the off and there are much more background noises to be heard. The story is basically the same but the changes make it refreshingly different as one of the cube rooms seems to be chasing them. Some nudity and sex. Good twist at the end. *****.Cube zero –a prequel to the first film and returns to a booby trap scenario but focuses on those running the cube. Much more of a story but less tension and claustrophobia. Personally I found it the weakest of the three. ***These innovative sci-fi movies take a standard premise, people trapped and trying to survive/escape but it does so in a disturbing nightmare world where people just disappear. Is it a rich persons game or a scientific study, you’ll have to watch to find out. A highly recommended **** view.

Cube movies are the kind where you either love them or you hate them. Being a tech person i really like them, but do not see them if you want to know the plot. The plot is almost about there is no plot. Its all about how the different characters cope with the situations, and how they develop. Can someone say "trap" ?

Ok, the Original Cube film is excellent. A really well made indie film. Original, engaging and really well acted.The second film (the prequel) is also note-worthy, giving a good backstory and explaining some things from the first film.The 3rd film (Cube Zero) is absolutely dire. Nothing else to say about it.

Came 2days early . I love this box set and now I own one

The films was as expected especially Cube 2 which I've already seen.Minuses would be cube 1 which is projectedas windowed format.Cube 3 is a prequel to cube 1.But other than that good movies.

Brilliant indie Sci fi films that are now sadly discontinued. After trying to find the box set for years I found it here for a reasonable price
