The middle section of the back plate sticks out 1/4". I've already purchased knobs with matching drawing handles, and the protruding-middle section made the knob not sit properly on top of this back plate. Unfortunately, I really needed these back plates, since the original knobs had backplates, leaving a round circle on each of the cabinet surface. However, no one else sells back plates in this color, plus the price is amazing, esp. since I need 34 of them. Thankfully, I was able to find knobs at Lowes that match the handles I've gotten, and that also sit properly on top of this back plate (the end section of the knob is not as large, so it was able to curve properly on the back plate.)Knobs usually come with 1" or 1 1/2" screws: 1" if you do not install them on drawers, 1 1/2" if you are installing them on drawers. Therefore, you'd need to purchase #8-32 1 1/4" or 1 3/4" screws to accommodate the extra 1/4" protruding section.If you are to use them on existing knobs, these may or may not work with them depending on the shape of the back of the knobs. If you are to buy new knobs, bring one of these to the store with you to make sure it sits properly.I would have given it a 5 star if the middle section is flat (as it should be). I have to take away 1 star for the flawed design.

I purchased a bunch of these after I decided to change out the knobs in my house. The original knobs in my house had backplates, so they left ugly rings on all the cabinets. These backplates make the knobs I picked out look larger and therefore they stand out better. The only downside is that the screws for the knobs I bought are too short to accommodate the backplates, so I had to purchase new screws as well.

These really made a difference with my knobs, love them!

love the weight and design of the backplate. inexpensive for the quality. Just one complaint , i only received 8 units when i actually ordered a 10 pack, not real happy about that however !

Accurate description and great color.

Worked perfect to tighten up the fancy hand painted ceramic knobs. It enhanced the look too.

Wife wanted to use these as rosettes on some mirrors mounted in upstairs hallway and they look great. If only screws were included!
