A henna hair colouring powder that is made with a blend of natural henna. The powder is a product you mix up yourself where as the creams we also offer are a pre-mixed solution in a ready to apply bottle. Henna is an oriental shrub known since ancient times for its benefits. It fortifies, gives body to the hair and protects it from harsh weather conditions. Henna is nature's safe means to colour and condition hair, recommended for women who want to free themselves from chemical dyes and bleaches. Used alone or combined with other plants, Henna deepens and highlights the natural hair colour, and improves the general hair health. Unlike chemical hair colourings that penetrate each strand of hair in depth, Henna deposits a film of colour on the hair surface to offer protection as well as body. Because of Henna's surface-tinting property, the final shade will depend on the original colour of the hair. This tone-on-tone effect thoroughly covers troublesome first white hairs.

Don’t be put off by a cheap price this stuff is as good as any expensive ones I have tried
I have been using henna to colour my hair for many years now. You have to be committed to natural hair care it doesn’t ruin your hair but in return it is messy, smelly and time consuming. I have used many’s different types most recently lush and pure henna both of which are annoying for different reasons:1. Pure henna you have to mix the night before with lemon juice and use straight away so you have to plan it if your plans change you waste it.2. Lush comes in a block that is hard to break up and then ‘cook it’ to melt it which takes ages, it stains everything very quickly so you need bleach on hand for the shower curtain, bath, sink etc. Both given great colour and condition. I have never tried this one as it is cheap so I presumed poor quality. But I thought I would try it as I couldn’t be bothered to fight with the lush block again. The instructions are rubbish. I know how to use henna so I used my experience to make it up! I applied to fully dry clean hair, I mixed in a plastic bowl with a wooden spoon (don’t use metal with henna) to the same consistency as yoghurt (think regular not set or runny) using just boiled water to mix which it did well with lots of lumps. I applied to my hair covered it (clingfilm, showercap, plastic bag or in my instance biodegradable poo bag ((unused ;-)) ) put an old towel over it and left for three hours. I then washed it off and applied conditioner so I could comb my hair as it knots.I have to say I was not hopeful on the colour as I got it on my face and on the shower curtain and it washed off without staining. It didn’t run, itch or dry to a crust. But I was delighted! My hair was a lovely vibrant red. Be aware henna deepens over a couple of days so your first colour won’t necessarily be your final one. It also fades with washing but I am four washes in and still bright. I can honestly say this is one of the best experiences I have had and have just ordered a load more and the shampoo that maintains the colour.
