OpenPLC Programming Handbook

The writing is weird: so much repetition and intro across chapters. Needs a good editor. Otherwise, the content could be pulled from online sites that will remain up to date. Was really looking for something to pull together relevant info to get me up to speed, as I’m new to PLC programming, but I spent more time reading intro and high-level remarks than useful information. Did notice the book was “powered by ChatGPT “ which might explain it.

The book is well written and can provide good info for novices and beginners, but I am an advanced user and need more. It covers ladder logic well, but that doesn't apply to me. I have particular interest in SFC (sequential functional chart) programming specific to OpenPLC, which I can't get it to work, but there's very little reference to it.Chapters 5 and ahead contain some information that is valuable. OpenPLC is definitely a great tool.
