Plastic Shepherd Dog Whistle. Pack of 3

Good price.Unfortunately one of our dogs really doesn’t like the sound of these whistles so I can’t use it regularly as I was hoping to.It’s not easy at first to blow these whistles but there’s a young lad on YouTube that shows how and once I’d got the jist it was pretty easy.

Easy to master this one.

Hard to use

Great piercing whistles once you get the hang of it, they really are something you need to practice to use so if you are expecting to get these out and just start whirling like a pro, i'm afraid it just won't happen...Before you think to buy one of these get on your favourite search engine and watch a few videos to see what people say and how you use them.If you need one, and have to learn no matter what, these are great and being plastic don't get too cold using them outside.

not easy too use

I received individually blister packed Acme 576 plastic shepherd whistles. Ordering two packs I got 2x black (one in each pack(bag) and 1x blue, green, red and white.These are standard farm equipment, cheap (they get lost), reasonably robust, and easy to clean.Some people claim that they are difficult to use. They require a similar amount of practice, persistence and knack as learning to whistle with only tongue an teeth, or getting a decent tone out of a brass instrument. I.e. most children manage it over a weekend once the notion takes them. Because everyone uses a personal technique (mouths, lips, teeth and tongues are all different), I think persistence is more important than findng the “right” instructions.Unlike most other dog whistles, these can produce a variable pitch and volume sound. This permits a great variety of signals enabling several commands and more than one dog to be worked together. Some people can play tunes with them.

It took me a little while to get any kind of noise that didn’t sound like a badly tuned radio but after som experimenting I managed it. Part of the problem when reading other people’s comments is that the way one person gets a tone out of the whistle may not necessarily work for someone else so just persevere.

I had one of these years ago, I bought 3 as I knew I would lose at least one. Once you get the hang of them they are loud and you can vary the pitch. Easy to lose so I have them on a ribbon.

Sehr gute Beschreibung des Artikels bei Amazon, rasche Zustellung, Artikel ist prima zum Üben für Anfänger, alle 3 Artikel kamen in Einzelverpackungen verschweißt, so daß man sie auch gern und gut an Freunde verschenken kann, preislich super als Einstieg. Hatte mir zusätzlich noch eine 2-Loch-Whistle bestellt vom andren Anbieter bei Amazon. Die soll noch durchdringender bei Windgeräuschen etc. sein. Brauche ich für Hunde-Distanz-Arbeit im Urlaub am Meer, da ich immer wieder feststellte, daß normales Pfeifen mit den Lippen, bzw. normale Flöten je nach Windgeräusch und Windrichtung für den Hund weniger bis gar nicht hörbar sind.
