Lonely Planet Pocket New York City (Travel Guide)

Incredibly useful for a five-day trip to New York. Contains a useful map and lots of excellent suggestions for places to visit.

I'm going to NYC at the end of November but there's so much to see it's overwhelming. So this pocket version book is perfect, as it's concise with lots of good tips on what to do in a day. A really useful guide to the city.

Love the lonely planet pocket series. Good recommendations of places to visit, not always the most popular with tourists. Also shows places to visit on a budget or if short on time. Definitely needed for that city break

A great little book - full of useful tips.I bought this for our first trip to New York & found it to be really useful - both in the planning stages and while we were there.It’s a perfect size to carry around with you and the maps were invaluable.

A concise and great little guide for a newbie to New York like me. It had all the essentials for planning my first trip to New York, divided into areas, with a small map for each, a listing of sights, shops and where to eat. I used this guide in conjunction with the Rough Guide to New York which I found more useful for my overall planning (I preferred the way the Rough Guide was laid out and it was more appealing to me visually...). I'd say, as a first time visitor it was great to use the 2 different guides to give me a different approach (e.g. the where to eat for instance was not the same on both guides)

I will be travelling to New York next week and this book + map has really helped me get my head around what to do when I am there and has also educated me about the area.Update:I carried on using this book through my whole trip. It was very helpful!I plan on buying a lonely planet book for every city break I go on now!

I got this for my son in law, who was taking my daughter to New York for her 50th birthday. It is pocket sized, so easy to carry with a pull out map. It is easy to read and find places, all in all, a good buy.

As all the other Lonely Planet stuff, it’s perfect! Full of practical information, a map and even an example of how to organise your trip by days.
