South Shore Furniture Fusion 1-Drawer Nightstand, Pure Black

We bought this to match a dresser we got for our guest bedroom. The site we bought the dresser from didn't offer the matching night stand, so we lucked out finding it on Amazon for a good price. It was a bit of a pain to put together, but luckily my boyfriend and I are both MBAs so it only took us 2 hours as opposed to the standard 4 hours it normally takes for this kind of assembly (that was a joke, but seriously, the box is basically filled with wood planks and screws). If you've bought cheap furniture before, you know what you're getting yourself into. But at least it looks nice when complete!

Firstly, depending on your ability to follow instructions and keep your inventory of hardware organized, building this nightstand isn't very difficult. You only need three tools: a hammer, a Phillips screwdriver, and a Robertson screwdriver. There were a couple of times, however, in which my boyfriend and I had to unscrew some parts and flip them around, as later parts couldn't fit right until we had done so. This could either be due to our incompetence or some lack of clarity in the instruction manual. It's probably a little bit of both, so if you find that some parts don't seem to fit right, be sure to not completely tighten the screws until the end, and to do some flipping around before deciding it's a manufacturing defect.Secondly, the final product looks great! It feels nice and looks sturdy. The drawer glides in and out with ease. It has a classic look with a touch of a rustic-but-not-too-shabby feel. Altogether, I'm very happy with this product.

Got it halfway assembled and discovered that the kit was missing half of the hardware required. Definitely my fault for not checking, but now I’m stuck with a half finished piece of furniture and I’m sure it will take weeks to get extra parts. So I will go to my local Lowe’s and see if I can find what I need. Definitely frustrating especially since it’s a little expensive for a DIY piece of furniture.

This table was exactly as pictured. The grey is a dark grey but looks very modern. It was fairly easy to assemble with the pictures in the instructions and letters on the pieces. Definitely have a blanket underneath when putting together because the "finish" was easily stretchable or chipped.

Solid piece, easy to assemble, looks and feels nice. Purchased to match the South Shore 5 drawer dress which was also a great buy.Updated to 5 starts, here's why.We did have an issue with the nightstand that was unexpected. We contacted South Shore and were pleasantly surprised at how great their customer service is. They went above and beyond our expectations to make sure we were taken care of. Customer support means a lot these days and South Shore nailed it!

Nice stand, however came with missing hardware which is annoying. Unable to finish assembly of the drawer. Called customer service at South Shore to request additional hardware. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

One of the pieces of the nightstand arrived broken and the package was missing hardware but the customer service was good. They didn't hesitate to send me another pack of hardware pieces and a replacement piece for the one that arrived broken. When I call the 1800 number I don't think I was on hold for more than a minute. They were easy to understand and I got tracking info for the parts. Not the best QC but the customer service does make up for the inconveniences. Their instructions are super easy to follow, kinda like building legos.

Very sturdy, and nice quality all together. I got 2 of these and after assembling the 1st one I didn't really need instructions for the second lol. It looks great and looks just like the picture. I highly recommend this piece!

This nightstand is NOT "Pure White". It is only white on the outside. The drawers, apart from the face piece, are dark taupe. The drawer slides are dark brown. The nightstand arrives in pieces to be assembled, and I called South Shore Customer Service to report a packing error, but they said ALL the nightstands are like this - it is not a mistake. Also, it is "not important" since you can only tell it's not all white when you open the drawer (!). They did not agree that the taupe drawer and dark brown slides should be mentioned on their web site, amazon, or elsewhere. They insisted that "Pure White" is an accurate description of this piece. The nighstand is ugly with its non-matching, too-dark drawer and slides. We returned it.

I love this end table so much because it was exactly what I wanted and looks amazing beside my bed. I would have preferred if it came assembled, but it really isn't that difficult to figure out. I'm entirely happy with this purchase. It's very sturdy and a classy black addition to my bedroom!

This furniture is typical 'assembly required' furniture. My daughter and I put it together for her room in about an hour. The colour and fit and finish of the pieces were nearly perfect and, provided the enclosed instructions are followed, the furniture assembles easily. Take your time, do not use undue force when assembling and do not overfill the drawers and you will have a great piece that will last a long time. I have several South Shore pieces and they're all awesome.

Easy to put together nice enough. Did find very similar ones at Walmart 2 for less them buying 1 from Amazon.
