Be warned, this is a lovely book with clear instructions and I am pleased with my purchase. HOWEVER, please note it is only for needletatting. Fine if you are experienced in both forms of tatting. Nevertheless, it is well worth buying should you wish to learn "the needle way."

I bought this because it had such a good star rating and I was expecting a clear introduction to tatting - big mistake. If I'd read the reviews properly I'd have noticed that everyone else has already tried tatting so had a familiarity with the stitches. The instructions are woeful - small photographs shown from the wrong point of view - as if you were sitting in front of someone doing it rather than looking at your own hands and no descriptions of the difference between the stitches. On the whole a really disappointing purchase.

Esta bien, pero los diseños de la joyeria son muy básicos. En lo personal me gustan un poco más elaborados.

Ich bin Anfängerin und habe zunächst mit Nadeln gearbeitet. Nur diese Technik wird in dem Buch erklärt. Es enthält dazu die wichtigsten Infos zu den Grundtechniken mit deutlichen Fotos. Die Projekte sind hübsch und recht einfach. Leider fehlen hier und da ein Paar Kleinigkeiten. Es ist z.B. nicht genau beschrieben, wie man die Fandenenden am Schluß vernäht, oder wie man sie direkt am Anfang mit einarbeitet.Ich bin inzwischen zum Schiffchen-Occhi übergegangen. Das wird hier nicht erklärt.

一般的な　タティングレースは　シャトルを用いたものですが、この本には　『ニードル（針）』を用いた手法で作品が作られています。日本では　「高嶋式」という方法がありませんが　あまり一般的ではありませんでした。海外の本も、入門書が針とキットで売られている程度です。この本には、比較的簡単でかつ見栄えの良い作品が掲載されています。ビーズを用いたアクセサリーがメインです。カラー写真で細かく手順が載っていて、目数や編む方向も図解されているので英語がわからない方でも大丈夫だと思います。使用するニードルは、外国の手芸用品を扱っているお店で売っているかと思いますが、高いので　私は「ぬいぐるみ用の針」を使っています。レース糸＃20位なら15から20cmの「ぬいぐるみ用の針」で十分です。レース糸＃40以下でしたら長めの縫い針を用いています。針先が気になるようなら、ペンチで切ってヤスリをかければ完璧です。シャトルを用いた作品より、手法が限られますが、半分から4分の一程度の時間で作品ができるのでタティングビギナーさんにぴったりですよ。
